Going from HPS to LED. Worth it?

Pre-charged, I only add a cal-mag product for the first few watering's after that ,there is enough in my hydroponic formula to see them through.
It's hard for me to believe that you water every 15 min and have trouble with deficiencies. What's you're nutrient profile like?

I am custom making my own chemical ferts...this is my first run...I am still playing with the formula.....My bloom formula is:

N (NO3-) 206.113 71.8% +/- 0%
K 269.145 -10.3% +/- 0%
P 158.955 32.5% +/- 0%
Mg 110 0% +/- 0%
Ca 259.817 -18.8% +/- 0%
S 145.584 127.5% +/- 0%
Fe 2.5 0% +/- 0.1%
Zn 0.1 0% +/- 3.3%
B 0.5 0% +/- 0.2%
Cu 0.2 0% +/- 1.3%
Mo 0.1 0% +/- 4%
Na 0.58 0% +/- 0%
Si 0 0% +/- 0%
Cl 0 0% +/- 0%
Mn 0.5 0% +/- 0.7%
N (NH4+) 0 0% +/- 0%

Now I know it may seem high in N for bloom nutes, but that is because I have pumped it with extra Calcium for the Coco. MG is pretty high too, for coco...

N is not my main element, CA is, even in my GROW mix. For whatever reason my COCO clings to the CA and MG!!

When I say deficient, I mean a few leaves out of hundreds of leaves....but I want to perfect my formula...I want ALL green leaves:D

Funny. All you guys bitching about coco in a lighting thread.

LED kills HID. Finished. By the time LED is cheaper than HID, weed will be too.

Place your bets, gentlemen.
Oh for fucks sake... you had to throw some gas on the fire!
Some people agree with you and some do not.
Personally, I have no idea because I've never tried COB lighting. Since you have used both with success, I believe you.

Until its actually cheaper then HID, then no...cost is a barrier to entry, meaning it does not "kill" it.

The Sun kills your COB. Its FREE, its BETTER....so go grow outdoors.

Im just showing you what you sound like everytime you make a post like that:)

Is the highlighted value correct?

There's always a lot of bargain HID gear on craigslist.

You need to balance that a little better, you're over feeding cal and mag, and under feeding on K and P. And why are you adding sodium into the mix.

I dont need to research on google for other peoples experiances, I water my plants in coco for 12 hours a day. (15 minutes watering and 15 minutes break).

All my plants are still alive despite being watered almost continuously. Incredible aint it?? I mean, how could I possibly defy Google????]
I think I finally learned something from this ongoing nightmare of a thread... I've done Dwc for about 10 years..
Soil and synthetic before that.. now I'm doing organic soil.. always wondered about coco.. if you read thru all the bullshit
you guys told me a lot of what I didn't get.. And then showed me a pic of the grow.. Thanks

I know I do....this is a work in progress....I welcome any advice in this area, this is my first time making my own nutes and using them.

You say I am over feeding cal mag, I am still deficient and I am adding ADDITIONAL cal mag to my reservoir, the only reason why I dont raise it further is because I am using calcium nitrate and I dont want too much N.

I think I have enough K in there?
I think I have enough P too?

I know I have too much N for flower, again my issue is the Calcium.

I plan to do a week 5 of only PK...

Thanks:)

Yes, and it should be around the 30ppm mark for flowering not 145

The sulfur comes from the Magnesium sulphate (Epson salts)....

I have always added plenty of epson salts to my res, increasing sulfur to 100-300PPM, with no ill effects.

Whoever uses CAL-MAG does the same to their res aswell.

I dont see that as an issue?

Ask anyone who gripes under the sun; it is anything but free.

I'm unconvinced sunlight is better; you can't regulate its brightness, spectrum, timing or regularity.

Just because cost of entry is low doesn't mean it's automatically the low cost option throughout the life cycle. I'll let you do the math.

Better quality and more yield- don't forget these in those numbers.

Relax bro:)

I agree with you, COB is the future.....

Thats the problem though....

future....:D

What are you using for the magnesium additive? I use sugar daddy and it's expensive

Epson salts / Magnesium Sulphate

I bought a ton on craigslist from some dude...I have enough for....10 years:)

Got it for like 50 bucks...hehe
