ok so let me get this straight. A cob fixture is going to prove itself as the best, most efficient led grow light ever made, via comparison involving a highly scientific study vs products in an entirely different design class.

Hey, the lights that enter are the lights that enter. I wish a cob light would. It would even out the playing field a lil.
But there's a few good ones.
Excuses, excuses. An led grow light is an led grow light. What's your point. They all cost the same so should they all produce the same? If they can't hang then they shouldn't be on the mkt.

I'm trying to do some of your math like above for Vero29 Gen7's, but for the life of me I can't figure out where to get the umol/j figure in order to calculate PPF. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

You are limited to the SPDs Bridgelux has made available in their datasheets. I've already done the 3000K 80CRI curve and came up with LER 332 and QER 4.68. Using that and the 4000K data you could come up with a pretty close estimate for 3500 80CRI. They haven't released any 90CRI SPDs. Whether Bridgelux has that info available but not publicly released I don't know.
