here, canes are upper elevation, and you can only find them in the mountains.That sir is a respectable Canebrake there my friend.
I've eaten several diamondbacks & they were really good - just not much meat there.
Moose smokes pretty well (I'm an amateur in that arena) but I'd never sacrifice a scrap of Dall - the stuff is simply too good as steaks and VERY difficult to get.
timbers are the lowland variety. genetically identical, but timbers are light in color and blend into the dead and dry weeds (like bermuda grass). canebrakes are very dark, and tend to hide in crevasses of granite, especially dark granite. same color, other than timbers go light, canes go dark. the difference is elevation.
