I still can't upload pics..

But the one plant that was flowering early has been harvested n the other 4 are just starting to flower.

I probably got like a quarter off the one I harvested, pretty airy nugs but it had been flowering alot longer than 8 weeks so I didn't wanna leave them much longer.

The plant in the ground is like 4 feet, the second biggest is in a feed bag and it's like 3 feet, and has a tomato cage. The last 2 are short and stubby because their tops snapped off when they got knocked over. They are each maybe a foot tall but looking down from above they take up alot of horizontal space.

Anybody have tips for drying outside without risking losing ur whole harvest?

Tried last year in my Shed/Caban and it was around October and the humidity was very high. I added a small heater inside with fan but end results weren't all that. Also it was my strain (m39). This year I had started inside till June then went outside. I kept 2 inside to flower (white widow & m39). I made my self a cute little grow box for both. Enough but not for the rest of the family outside. For the Familia they are going to dry inside in my closet were they vegged. The closet is set up already just removed cool tube and bulb. I added a small dehumidifier because my basement is cold and was a little too humid. You can see my fan and fan controller. (Am an Electrician) incase you need some advice from a fellow Amigo. Worked great now curing. As in outside..... not too sure cause the cold is coming ....

That looks like a great setup there, Mister Spider. I'll be drying out in a detached unheated garage. I will have dehumidifier and fan running but should I be concerned about the low temperature at that time of year? I'm thinking that it will be fine as long as the humidity is low enough with good airflow. Might just take a bit longer. Thoughts?

Bruvyman from the looks you'll be due late October? Last year my crop finished October 30th and I sheltered the girls as much as possible. I had some powdery mildew and got bud rot. Really sucked losing nice tops. It rained alot and it was so bad outside as in humidity I had a 12" fan oscillating outside in my back yard. One day got home and it was raining and the baby kept blowing and swiveling..... sorry as for the garage your gonna be nice and if you really need you can put a small heater. A garage is well insulated to a wooden caban/shed. Lots of open space so the dehumidifier will help a lot and also will produce warm dehumidified air and with a fan or two. Big bud outdoor are more prone to mold if constantly rained on. Just got some Humbolt Grarity and scared my buds get bigger then they are cause of bud rot. This grow is bigger then last year's. VAPING TIME

Yeah man... late Oct is where I'm resigning myself to at this point. Ive been telling myself mid-oct, thanksgivingish... but I think I'd be in for some immature bud at that point. Maybe some cold weather will speed it along?

Long term forecast for the northeast is for a warm, dry autumn so fingers crossed. And if there is a big big rain forecast, I can move her to the garage temporarily.

The garage I speak of isn't as insulated as I made it sound I guess. It really is a big old wood shed built in 1954 (its pretty cool actually) and has metal roof. Doesn't keep in a lot of heat. But again, I think with low humidity and airflow it should be fine for drying.

Hopefully you manage to avoid the rot this year. Last year was pretty damp from what I remember. Cheers.

2x 15gal gals ~3 weeks into flowering, waiting for some cool nights to speed things up a bit, looks like another heat wave this week. They're not complaining though

Jack's Citrus & tap water all the way through here, trying it this year as I'd used AN A&B in the past but it gets expensive for outdoor. So far I've used one small $10 bucket and just opened the second.

BTW: Had a freak'n wicked storm up here last night which took out 1/3 of one of my gals, we're just off Georgian Bay and the winds were strong enough to knock a branch off a tree and straight down on one of my gals. Will get a better assessment of the damage when I get back later tonight

Any thoughts on putting bamboo right into the soil in the pot? I'm guaranteed to break a bunch of roots, but maybe that's not a bad thing considering how bound they are.

Yeah thanks, no biggie, these are extra sift really, my indoor is year-round so not a big loss and should be able to save a good chunk of it. The rain had them weighted down, they're well supported and handled the wind but the tree branch was a bit much, the other that didn't take a direct hit was fine.

Yeah might be a good idea to batten down the hatches, wouldn't be surprised with the weather we've had if we get a rough September/October. I'd say you're fine with bamboo down the edges I've done that with a few weeks left and haven't had a problem with disturbing the roots.

Nice, and nice quality pic for a phone camera. Recently used my iPhone (6s) when my older DSLR crapped out and was surprised how well it takes pics. It did suck though in comparison to my DSLR with close-ups, just couldn't hold it steady enough to get decent macro shots.

Tripod is the answer to a lot of photography questions... especially when dealing with macro or long focal lengths. If you can't put it on a Tripod, just make sure you take it bright sunlight and bump up the ISO a bit. The resulting shutter speed should be quick enough to eliminate blur from camera shake. That being said, keep your f-stop as high as possible too in order to maximize depth of field. The range of focus is very shallow when dealing with close-up.

I like taking pics almost as much as growing, all good points, with the DSLR's it's easy to get decent shots, sometimes use the tripod but it's heavy enough that I don't have to most of the time. The phones are a different beast when taking them handheld. Still playing with the newest upgrade which is a Canon T6i/750D, just got it last week and haven't had a lot of time to platy with it but impressed so far. I really like the WiFi and app which can be used as a remote shutter with a tripod, edit/delete pics without transferring them or simply transfer/post them directly from the camera. Cheers.

Here's mine today. Again I can't say enough about how great this little grow experiment is turning out for me.

I'm doing a bit of an unscientific experiment after reading way too many defoliation argument threads. I decided to take all the fan leaves off of one of the two biggest colas and leave them on the other equally big one to see if any localized effects good or bad. You can see them in the centre of the pic. The one in front still has the leaves and the one behind has been plucked. I won't start another debate about it here, but I have been softening on my stance that you shouldn't remove a healthy leaf. It's amazing how little actual evidence or info exists about the role of fan leaves vs. sugar leaves in bud/trichome production.



Edit: feel free to weigh in on yield guesses. I'm hoping for 8oz. Some days I feel that's overly optimistic and some days I think I may get more.

Nice, looking good and healthy, and yes we're slacking with the pics in here. Been crazy busy with work myself, travelling all next week, trying to get things in order so all my indoor and outdoor girls survive while I'm away. Will get an updated pic up by the weekend, the one plant that got crushed has turned out Ok, after a few days it's now looking like it may survive just fine (what's left of it anyhow!). Always hard to guess, bud density can make such a huge difference in weight, but I'd say in the 6-8 oz. range is doable depending on density. Cheers.
