just use silica blast or growtec pro-silicate
yeah... I gotcha there.Welcome.
We went around and around with this topic a while back on here. Silica appears to be one of those items where it's really tied up unless a solvent is used. I would prefer to go about it 100% organically too, but Im not sure that the juice would be worth the squeeze. Pro-tekt is so effective, and so little of it is used, that I just can't see myself fiddling with bamboo or horsetail trying to unlock the same goodies.
That is damn interesting! You could probably pull a bamboo shoot up and plunk that root mass/ball of earth right in to a bucket and brew away.... or add it to your soil bin. Either way, sounds like it would be loaded with BIM'sBUT it is interesting that bamboo may have some use as far as for a Microbial innoculant
Yes I understand but I would Guarantee that protek does Not use "organic" methods, most everything needs some sort of technology and certain compounds (chemicals) to extract or produce Other Certain compounds (chemicals). "CHIMICAL, a. [See Chimistry.] 1. Pertaining to chimistry; as a chimical operation. 2. Resulting from the operation of the principles of bodies by decomposition, combination, &c.; as chimical changes. 3. According to the principles of chimistry; as a chimical combination." from Noah Webster's 1828 "American Dictionary of The English Language." So according to Definition No. 2 even Composting and Building Soil is a Chemical. Electrolysis was introduced over 200 years ago and was a huge step in Separating Compounds,An interesting link. But I think their extraction method is less than organic, which is sorta my whole goal here, but honestly I have resolved to just using pro-tekt.
But how is it derived? Minerals or vegetation?AgSil from build a soil is organic. It takes a week to show up. I hate to admit it but I have pro tekt. I've only been using it with the aero cloner. It was cheaper and easier to get at the time. The rock dust we use has silica and some species of aloe have silica as well.
They should really change the name of AgSil to something else..
I wish I had a profound conclusion, but with silica its SO hard to see if it's doing much to begin with.Bumping............... @greasemonkeymann, what did you settle on, cos I've got shit loads of horsetail and goosegrass(also high in sillica) in my (older) compost and in my FPE, and I'm having to stake and support everything. I have got some liquid potassium silicate, but I only use that If I'm gonna do a neem foliar. Do you think I should be adding a little with ever watering or so?
Thanks, I might start adding a little during stretch see if I notice the benefits.I wish I had a profound conclusion, but with silica its SO hard to see if it's doing much to begin with.
I did topdresses with horsetail (takes a LONG time to breakdown), and I also did topdresses with bamboo leaves (again takes forever)
soooo...
I just use pro-tekt...
I like to do an aloe, pro-tekt, and coco water tea to them two or three times during early flower.
the only tea I use in fact
just wipe it on yer t-shirt and get on with it....whats wrong with ya? pmslI'm gonna go out on a limb here and say prob the main reason it's so prolific is because aside from cheap scaffolding the shits a bitch to work with.
poison oak & it's fire season here not a good mixall I got that's prolific here is sumac....and lots of of it.
that stuff grows like weeds near the local wetlands.
