Cheers,Very nice price but vat ? Did you not got caught?
Yes, the COBs are run at just over half the 40 watts. I thought it would be prudent to have a cushion for ambient temperature fluctuation. I will also be adding a few Hyper Reds.40 watts is more like 900-1050mA
It is also the dragon boat festival most have the week offJust as a side note about the company I deal with. They are rubbish for delivery times and customer service. These were three weeks past the estimated delivery time. Stay patient, chase them up via email and you will get them. to be fair to them, it could have just been a one off kerfuffle with my order.
Use trade assurance with Alibaba and your payments are covered.
Chinese customer service is practiced in a different way than the west.

Sixstring2112, Here is a link to the the thread I posted about the far red floodlight. https://www.rollitup.org/t/wills-simple-730nm-flower-initiator.890744/so tell me about that grey square fixture by itself the plants seem to like your new fixture also
Growmau5, The Heatsinks are not bad for the price. The fixture weighs so much less than the extruded finned profiles I used previously. The anodizing was done to a reasonable standard but some of the sinks had scratches from shipping. The vender will sort me out on the next order.wow man, that is one of the highest quality cold forging jobs I have seen from an overseas heatsink.
your build has all the cool shit that everyone talks about : far red initiator, a spot for a T5 UV. awesome stuff man. I wish you did videos! or maybe you could start taking some footage & ill cover it on my channel. i love your images, but I know a lot of people would love to see this light perform in video. cheers will
I did have in mind the possibility of running the COBs harder in future (probably not though). SupraSPL got me all excited about maximum efficiency when I was still figuring out what was what. This fixture pulls about 230w from the wall.(minus the 21w T5). This grow space is in a loft which for 3 weeks of the year can get a little warm. I am at about the same longitude as you in the Netherlands but with poor U.K. weather.Awesome @Will Thayer !
In retrospect i would have ordered 40w heatsinks instead of 35w for running CXB3590 3500k CD COBs @ 1050ma
Not that it isn't working here, but it's just at the edge on very hot days.
@700ma with these heatsinks you are definately in the safe zone, unless your house is on fire
Yes, low wattage also equals more stealth, worth a lot right?I did have in mind the possibility of running the COBs harder in future (probably not though).
