You ever check out Arc-Spray?
We do commercial sandblasting on quite a bit of stuff & then we "metalize".
Basically we blast to white metal with a very abrasive media, then with our Arc-spray machine (that is connected to a 450A welding machine) the dual feeds of pure zinc wire is atomized & blown onto the steel parts. They will literally NEVER rust if coated properly.

Looks cool! Pretty sure we had that done on some of the tankers I've worked on but never did it myself.

It's cool, but we invested over 50k in the entire set-up.

50K to you guys but this is 420god, if he gets the notion he'll whip one up in his garage off spare parts he had laying around

I've been using phosphoric acid after I sandblast, also leaves a zinc coating but not to that level. I'm just a diy'er. How's that stuff coat? Would it get inside a frame? I'm sick of my vehicles rusting away.

You would first need to strip the frame as it has to be commercially sandblasted just prior to applying the arc-spray.
And that damn sand gets into everything so you have to be meticulous about prep.

I'm working with a spare stripped frame, I'm building a temp enclosure to sandblast it myself. It's getting fully boxed, new crossmembers, etc. I was just wondering if that stuff would get inside, similar to powder coat. I'll probably just paint it, I already have most of what I need, always looking at better options though. Like I said, I hate rust.

It won't get up inside of tubing or anything like that.
You need to get a straight shot at what you want to coat with the gun.

Fair warning, whatever color paint you use, it's going to turn black. It ends up like a baked on plastic, kinda. I never thought about it as an actual coating, but it might kick ass the way it bonds, I might have to test it myself. I was going after wasps and didn't have any wd40 handy.:fire:
