My last harvest tastes great
not doubting it just saying I didnt have success now with my nighttime temps below 60 my last batch was pretty frosty. Got the Peltiers powered .25 amp was not enough to cause them to have a significant temp difference, 1 amp and too hot to touch within a couple of seconds, so I stuck one on a heatsink hot side up and one on another heatsink hot side down added a fan. Unfortunately only one fan so had to swap the hs back and forth but within a few seconds ice started to form and had 100 deg f on the other it went up to 115 when I put the hs on the fan. The setup was more than maxing out the little 12v 1a power supply though so I think if your not going to run them full blast you need a power supply that wont eat itself up.

Well they say 100w peltier advertised. But the MAX is 136.8ws. So I don't get what you mean by "eat itself up" .

The power supply not the peltier. I don't know if a constant current driver is the solution but that's where Im leaning

I wish someone in here has had some experience with these who could chime in. And I was thinking about using 4 cpu coolers to sandwich the longer water blocks that allow the water to come in contact with the cold for a lot longer. But at that point I'm in over $100 and should just save it and put towards an actual chiller for $300.

I'd start with figuring out the theoretical energy needed to cool your water starting with the premise that 1 calorie is the energy required to change 1g of water 1 deg centigrade. 6-8 gallons of water 7.8lbs/gal, then add some swag number for the heat added by everything (this will change as your delta T changes and time frame will come into play too, you mentioned the bigger block for more time the bloc inefficiency will come into play too.

Me personally i want to try a system like yours but Ive got to focus on the lights - take this with a grain of salt - i'd get a sheet of plywood and have the buckets sit on a slope very slightly (if you want to get fancy make a V to the middle return line) to help prevent stagnation, and do a ice chest water cooler with the t-stat reducing the importance of doing the calculation above to avoid wasting energy, my gut says the amount of cooling you are planning will be great for getting to temperature but in excess of what you need to maintain a steady state. t'would be nice if someone who knew something chimed in????
thing is a chiller makes a ton of heat and draws mucho power.so if you can make these lil peltiers work it should save a ton of money
An extra 150-200 watts of pure heat added seems like a nightmare to me, but then I'm just remembering a fan failure causing weeks worth of setback. I'll do a 1 pot setup soon but the hydro learn/re-learn curve is just a steep as for LEDs.

Edit: just remembered an old motorhead trick of wraping the fuel lines in foil to prevent heat from vaporizing in line, like I said it's doesn't seem to me your temps are too far off from what you want $1.37 of aluminum foil may be all you need.

Well as I said, I changed the water out and put the screen in. It fits like a glove. I'm sure in about a week's time, it'll start to fill out.20160418_131113.jpg 20160418_131130.jpg 20160418_131123.jpg

Well i'd say I've got GREAT negative pressure going on inside my tent. Haha its always fun to get inside and zip everything up. Its like a whole other world in there. I'm glad I got an 8x4. But you can tell very well from these pics that my walls are suckin' in BIG TIME.20160418_144636.jpg 20160418_144702.jpg 20160418_144708.jpg 20160418_144729.jpg 20160418_144820.jpg 20160418_144824.jpg

He's right I had one for a saltwater fish tank.

Go to a beer brewing forum and they can help with those peltiers. Tell them you're brewing
Any idea on wattage or power supply or any other spec (gallons, temp differential....) I'll search for info in brewing, I do wine too and chiling to where ice forms can knock out impurities, adjust ph, increase proof/alcohol.....beer though it seems they are taking from boiling down to mind thirties (F).

Welp, I did some MAJOR defoliation today. Especially on the mutant currant kush. It looks like a wet dog now. Haha. But I'm sure it'll help immensely to get those tops to stretch like I need them to.
Also, the runt is showing progress with roots hanging in the water now!20160421_104052.jpg 20160421_104100.jpg 20160421_104111.jpg 20160421_104118.jpg

YEAH! You whacked the crap out of em, can actually see just a few spots of light on the floor, perfect imho.

What's the plan for mini plant? Sorry micro plant?

Just gonna flower it with the rest. Probably rig a hood I made down by it so it gets what it needs though. I'm so stoked though. Friend of mine is selling me his 1/10hp eco plus for $170. They're like $350. He used it for once flower cycle and that's it

So they're getting quite large now. Flipped 2 days ago. But I have a question. I guess because I didn't top these (clones) they aren't really bushing out like I see a lot of scroggers plants do. The bottom branches and then those branches...branches are somewhat lower than the rest of the plant and really doubt they'll get long enough to plug into the screen. My question is for those who have done well with trellis. @Greengenes707 @Growmau5 @alesh whoever! What should I do? Do I really cutbthese branches clean off from the main stock? Here's a few pics. My hand is either holding or pointing at a few of the branches in question. Help! 20160429_113608.jpg 20160429_113617.jpg 20160429_113633.jpg 20160429_114523.jpg

Also just wanted to update the chiller. Got it from a friend for a spanking 150 + 25 for shipping. Couldn't be happier. It's an ecoplus model 1/10hp BEFORE they started piecing together in China. Also I finished my rdwc mini but unfortunately the lids I got just DO NOT FIT so I'll be buying buckets AND lids all from one source. Sucks. It'll be $40 with shipping included but, hey, I NEED EM! :p
Also took 20 clones. 9 in my diy easy cloner. Got. SprAyer in there that turns on for 15 mins of every hour and then 11 the old fashioned way with Clonex and Bontone combo in rapid rooters.20160429_114441.jpg 20160429_114449.jpg 20160429_114504.jpg 20160429_114622.jpg 20160429_114632.jpg 20160429_114638.jpg 20160429_114705.jpg 20160429_114737.jpg 20160429_114835.jpg

K so I'm getting no love here... I need some advice if someone could shed some light. What do I do about this undergrowth? So many tops. I don't really just chop em off the main stem do i? I'm trying to tuck them within the higher growth to get them to the light so they'll stiffen up maybe. Help? I have defoliated SO MANY leaves!20160430_094627.jpg 20160430_094637.jpg 20160430_094646.jpg 20160430_094656.jpg
