Ya I dunno it could be I guess. But we're you saying just drill 2 holes in the front door of the fridge and just wrap as much line as I can in the freezer portion? Would it help to run any in the fridge part? I'd assume it'd actually be more effective to reduce from 1/2" down to maybe 3/8" or 1/4" so that you can fit more line in, and also make less mass of water to need to be cooled through just inside the freezer area. Then expand back to 1/2"on the other hole on the fridge face.
Much more than a 10-15 deg temp difference would probably be a waste of energy, unless you have the fridge at that temp anyway. Not knowing what pump performance is and what your desired end flow.rate are.not sure how to answer. Manifold is 1.5in? Don't think an thing less than 1/2 for 340 gph.....either mock something up or bout out a pencil and paper

So here's some updates on the girls. The ones that did have problems are growing out past it now. It's always a scare but they're all doing well now. Even the baby runt that just happened to root weeks after the others did. She's just kinda.. there. I didn't have another one to put in there. But we're in hood shape. FINALLY the Currant Kush came out of her weird flowering stage. She's on track. Weekly system water switchouts.
Has anyone heard of a good way to perpetually grow using dwc for flowering?

Yes, I run rdwc all the way through. I might not be the best advocate right now, I'm contemplating a change to coco.

Anyone know a good rule of thumb for how high a good scrog screen ought be from the base of the stems? I have it now about 24". You can see the pic pipe coming up from the floor that the screen will fix into.
I also put holes in the reservoir bucket lid and it's helped with temp a lot. I've just recently read that white opaque buckets are best because it reflects light/heat. I'm too lazy to wrap each one in mylar or even better the reflectex stuff that car sun shades are made from. But I really wish I could get my water cooler.I may buckle down and just drop the $300 for a water chiller. Unless any of you have some ideas? I was thinking of tubing to outside the tent on the inlet on my air pump so it's pumping colder air into the water but I dunno.

I've thought an idea could be to wrap heavy black plastic or even panda film I have extra scraps around a 6"net pot with coco and just drip feed them 1-3 times a day. Simple.
Or remake or reuse my current ebb and flow to a igger size 2'x3' tub. Mine currently is 27"x18" so 10 gals to 20 gals on the bigger. But find sheet plastic and make square like "cubicles" for each net pot with a few holes in them and use it to keep each net pot and root system separate from the others as they grow in the mass of hydroton and fills and drains over time. They'll grow roots and keeping them separate from each other is important to transfer to buckets later on. But I feel this would work. Little plastic dividing sections out of 5" wide by the lengths and widths of the tub to make 6 spots.this pic show's only 5 but 6 fit well. But if I got the bigger tub it'd be much more room for 6.20160315_123011.jpg

First, get off your lazy ass and wrap the buckets in reflecitx! Duh, lol

Second, see if you can use a water pump to pump water up and then waterfall back into your reservoir tub. Continuous waterfall action will improve air circulating and exchange and will accelerate evaporation, which will cool the water. It may not be enough cooling but you can try it.

Third, compressing a gas heats it, so that's HOT air those pumps are pushing into your system, not cold.

Let's see a few pics of that? You're saying shallow water culture?
yes ..so you wanna see cola's or what

hole cut in strong lid for either 10" net pots or 3gal buckets in tubs..3 gal is safer, 1 1/8" drain 2" of liquid in tub , drain to sewer pipe , 3/4 pex feed lines 1/2 pex hand drilled drip rings..from 5 minon 15 off to 2 on 1 hr off
inliie coarse coco..i prefer lava though its heavy ..we cannot get lava here anymore

dwc is great but too much liquid volume these ar bare bulb i use cool tubes now..less yield but i don't care..i feel safer

I love it man! Huge bitches!!!

I just wanna give a thumbs up to Apollo 4x8 tent. It's great for me.I've even taken out the bottom middle cross pole to accommodate my rdwc return lines. Roots are getting HUGE. It comes with plenty of cross bars so when I wanna push more light at the currant kush who is just kinda behind the others, it allows me (with 8 sets of rope ratchets) to allow my lights to be so modular.
Heater/oscillating fan combo is keeping temp at a perfect 81*F with the additional 4" Booster fan intake piped directly into the central air ac for constant filtered outside fresh air into the tent. God I'm loving it.
Also a Big thumbs up to PHRESH filters. I just threw mine up today after I noticed some stank coming into the upstairs. Works like a charm. Fan is on speed Controller to dial in the CFMS (ESSENTIAL IMO).
SUPER happy all around though.

Awesome plants dude, but what's up with that spaceship in the tent, swooping down on them with those blinking lights?
:P

Don't mind me, I'm just a lil jelly. I want a spaceship in MY grow now!

Few more of things. Roots lookin goooood. Also a few shots of the intake, where it comes in, the a screen made to work with my return lines AND the height of the screen per the PVC coming up from the ground. Is that too high to start scrog in these or should I bring it down a bit? (LAST PIC)

Ya you're probably right. Once the screens on though, wiping the buckets out becomes no more. So after tomorrow's water change, (they need it bad. They're drinking a TON) I'll cut the pieces shorter and start tuckin', super croppin, and bending things in to place!

Right, but how cool? How cool is the basement outside the tent? its been 15 years since i did hydro and there are all sorts of different ways to battle the same problems. You probably want mid sixties or so, so take advantage of the temperature dif. you've created. Evaporation can help but will promote salt formation and "bug" slime formation if done in light.

Oh I dunno probably 70-75*F. Tent is directly on concrete though. So I think that helps a lot with temp of the water. My waterfalls help a small amount too. also venting the res lid.
