Your plants will grow / stretch and stay alive for days in the dark until it runs out of energy like above posted
We all have to remember Marijuana is a short day long nigh species, and also
it doesn't even use all of the full days sun.
Actually i read 6 - 8 hrs of sun is all they actually use,, the rest is reflected away they only have so much energy storage capabilities, what happens when there fully charged ????
will it work running them 24 hrs ??? sure it will ,, only thing i seen with running 24 hrs is little more tighter nodes . As for growth personally was pretty much the same really i seen no gains from running 24 hr lighting other then costing you more
REMEMBER its artificial lighting ..

This is my theories on why its important to have dark periods

1 - lights off allows plants to cool down
2 - Darkness allows plants to repair them self from insects , disease or wind damage
3- plants revereses nutrients to root zone to attract micro life and to boost up the imune system
4- allow stomata to clean her self by releasing 02 / water to the atmosphere
5 forcing plants to use its stored energy purging the plant cause in theory think of a battery its good to drain it down sometimes shit most intructions mentions to Drain lithium batteries then fuly charging it ??
And its true i did not do one battery once and it dies out much quicker then the battery i did follow instructions ..

Being MJ is like a 2 phase meaning respiration and transpiration it needs to do this to release toxins from the plant etc ,

Now to each there own , Do what you think is best for your situation as for my self i will continue to play by mother natures rules and give them like they accustomed to

We need to stay out of the newbie section because they like to argue. Show me one breeder, or one dispensary that runs a twenty four hour veg. Most dispensaries aren't that good but at least they ain't stupid enough to run lights 24/7. The people here take advice from the clerk at the grow store who sells bulbs.

All plants to need sleep at one time. Another look up phytochrome response

Before you go into alaska and blah blah. That's only a small part of Alaska in the department north and parts of Canada that have light 24/7. Those are mostly c3 plants. And cannabis is c4 plants.

1 if grow room is at proper temps, plants are already at proper temps
2 don't have insects, disease or high winds in my grow room
3 plants don't get sick and have no immune system. nutrients are used at the root zone first anyway

i'm not gonna bother with 4 and 5.

do what you want. you'll never smoke what i grow so i don't give a flying f***

You seem like a smart dude. But you can't be so smart that you believe that only your way of gardening is the only or best way. Its a bad trait to carry around. Its a known fact that the marijuana plant does great under 24 hours of light in veg, It also does great with 18 hours of light. All this it needs sleep this and that is wrong. You know that to be a fact, i know you do. Everyone here does. You are not getting better plants doing 18/6 in veg then the guy doing 24/0 in veg. Its all what people feel comfortable doing. I mean no disrespect, but some of your comments seems to be what your doing and you think thats all thats the right way.

please do. everybody saw the pics of your final product that looks like a 3rd grader grew it under a 60 watt bulb.

move along. i'm sure the advanced section folks will be glad to show how you are wrong about just about everything.

aren't you the guy who said plants flower under 18 hrs of light? i thought so.
