My First Hydro Grow - Master Kush

Few more pics. My girls are still growing about an inch per day. I think the cooler temps agree with them. They're all between 12.5-13.5 inches tall. Hairs are getting longer. I don't suppose I'll be seeing any good bud development for a few more weeks.

A few more pics:

It's too bad that my little cam is incapable of shooting close-ups.

They're all 20-21 inches. The main stems are getting thicker all the time, no doubt in part due to the fan. Here's my question, though, should I be running the fan all the time? It definitely helps to blow away the radiant heat from the light, but I was wondering if I could get away with running it maybe for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off. The fan is on low, but I guess I'm concerned that there will eventually be some wind burn. I am starting to see it a little on the plants closest to the fan, particularly up top. It's running on low too. Any suggestions? Here's a vid to give you an idea of how much they're getting blown around:

Approximately 21", and falling every day due to growth. Using the hand method I can see that I only have about 11" to go before heat becomes an issue, at which time I'll raise the light a little. I think I should avoid getting them closer than maybe 9 inches at the very least. Next grow I'm going to try and get an air-cooled reflector. In the meantime I suppose I can get a little clip fan to blow on the bulb.

I read here that an extended dark period helps the plants transition to flowering a little easier. Giving them that much time also allowed me to switch to running the light at night too. I went from running it from 12AM-6PM to 9PM-9AM.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

nice set up,how much did it cost???
Too fucking much! All together, I'd say I've invested about 2.2k(doesn't include the RO unit, which I would have bought even if I wasn't growing). I wanted to put together a system that could be easily expanded, and something I wasn't going to grow out of right away. I'll probably make a few upgrades before the next grow, but I'm pretty happy with everything I have now.

Nothing beyond the hairy little pre-flowers. At least I think they're pre-flowers. This isn't my plant, but they kind of look like this:

The pistils aren't quite as long, but they're getting there. Until I see some sacs I'm going to assume they're all female.

Not a pissing contest, friend. Hell, I'd love to see you yield more. And it's 600W.

Soooo....I have myself a little problem:

A few of the little bitches are fucking huge. The biggest one(44") has a good foot on the smallest. Today marks two weeks of flowering and they're just starting to get the fuzzies on the tops. The lower branches aren't nearly as productive yet. One thing's for sure, I'll be switching to 12/12 sooner next grow. My big girl is probably going to top out at about four feet. I was hoping to keep them at or around three.

Something I should note, on Thursday I introduced Blue Mountain Organics' Super Plant Tonic. I think it's safe to say that the dramatic growth I've seen is due to SPT. Marvelous shit, I tell you. I'll be keeping it in my arsenal for quite some time. The weather has been pretty decent around here so I haven't had to run the AC during the day as much. I can usually shut it off for a good 6-7 hours. The plants are getting much more of my exhaled co2(I'm in the room most of the time), so I'm sure they're loving that as well.

Back to the problem at hand, I want to have a level canopy. The three big girls, or "magordas" as my late uncle would say, are preventing the smaller ones from getting maximum light exposure because I have had to raise the light considerably.

I believe my options are either top, or bend. The tall stems are somewhat malleable. I think I might be able to pull that off. Would that be the best way to go? Would I ruin the plants if I top 'em? Will Erica and Jackson get back together? Please advise.

P.S. - It should be clear by now that #1, I have a shitty camera, and 2, I suck as a photographer from the get-go. My apologies.:peace:

It looks like you got some stretching going on man.

I supose you could bend them but there is nothing but stalk I can see.

I tell you what I would do. You may not like it. I would cut them off at the height of your average plant. Get a wire screen and mount it right above them and weave the new growth into the screen. SCROG Screen of green.

That will give you an even canpoy and you can lower your light and get light where you need it.

The plants you cut should go on the outside because they will grow like crazy.

I decided to top the three biggest girls.

I tried bending the tallest one and the fucker snapped, so I said "the hell with it" and topped the other two big'uns. Hopefully they're strong enoug to recover quickly.
