Donald Trump Leading The Republicans

You are well spoken and I was really curious where you were going with that. Thanks for the reply.

As I said, I don't believe in limited war. Our leaders during the Vietnam war limited our force while the VC went all out. Your perspective indicates just how "limited" that war was. I wish we had drones then too. Drones wouldn't have replaced men in the field but it sure would have helped.

You and I are of the same generation. I want to say something that does not reflect well on me. The returning vets from Vietnam were not given the respect they were due when they returned and this caused real hardship for some. I was one of the ignorant that confused protest of the war with those that served. I never said anything untoward but I did not at that time give a returning vet his due respect. I regret that. So let me say now, even though its way too late, thanks for your service.
Thank you, it has been an issue for me for many years that I internalized. It was after much therapy that I have been able to even talk about Vietnam. There were members of my close family that were shocked when I started wearing the Vietnam Veteran hat, they never knew...

Nobody wanted to talk about Vietnam after I returned, they were afraid what I might say, we all tried to sweep it under the rug..
We were so wrong about that. As I said, I realized many years later how badly we behaved towards our vets and very truly regret it. I was wrong and make no excuses. I am very sorry about this.

Edit: And may I add, wear that veterans hat with pride, sir. Respect.

I wear it mostly out of respect for those that never made it home. The bravest & strongest die first, they should not be forgotten.

it was a little more complicated than that, but I get what you are saying. If you think the movies made the Vietnam War look bad, you should have been there.

As your wife that money was hers already. You ginned up an excuse to put her on your payroll so that she could collect social security and paid her money that was already hers. Within a very short time, your investment in this scheme will pay more than you put into it. I told you before, its OK. You found a loophole and exploited it. Just STFU about others that are less fortunate than you and actually need help with food stamps or other assistance.
You can get all the food stamps and welfare you want and I wouldn't care. I did care about Obamacare and I don't anymore, because I think it should be free for everybody including me. So for the record I say everything should be free for everybody.

After being here at RIU for several years you and others here have convinced me to like free shit. So you win this one.

It was an engineering nightmare from the word go. The idea that one airframe can be a carrier plane, a jump jet AND an air superiority platform is asking for a rewrite of the laws of physics and warfare.

Da Vinci (the other Leonardo, that is) would have a field day with it.
Wow, the first half of my career was spent as an engineer in the air defense industry. I worked on various versions of the Hawk, AMRAAM, and PATRIOT missile systems. And some IR&D variants.

My team's work was a small contribution during the first Gulf war (Desert Shield & Desert Storm).

So I've been following the F-35, with disappointment. Kinda like THAAD.

My father did two tours in Da-Nang as a warrant officer in the USCG 66 thru 69 and he never talked about the war until about 15 years ago just one day he told me " we could of won that war but we couldn't shoot unless we had permission" and that was the end of that. We have never talked about it again.

Is that in reference to me, or the F-35, or both?

Pictures are worth 1000 words, unless they are absent of words.

Please 'splain it to me.
Wonky attempt at humor not directed at you this time, TJ.
Eierlegende-wollmilchsau is a German term used to describe the do-everything person or product. I first heard the term from a German engineer deriding a product that tried to do so much that it can do nothing. I think the word is hilarious and it sounds great when spoken properly. The literal translation is: Egg laying wool bearing milk pig.

It describes the F35 quite well I think.
