i'd be more concerned with the dead leaves in the soil, that can cause fungal issues in the wrong environment. he'll probably be OK though.

i'd keep the compost pile outside and save it for the outdoor plants. the beauty of indoors is that we get the chance to optimize things to the Nth degree. just my two cents, your mileage may vary.

whatever the case, the plants they claim are your worst still look better than anything they have posted, which doubles the LULZ factor.
