Boveda Packs not working! Curing stage..

Hi Guys,

So my boveda 8 gram medium 62% RH came today and they have been sitting in the jars since this afternoon.

I can't see 1% of change in humidity so far and its been over 8 hours. Am I doing something wrong? Still stuck at 70% / 71% still.

And my humidity outside is 80%+ so they havnt gotten any drying from taking them out the jars for a few hours

Urrgghh

Tempted to pop 2 in each jar I got 10 and 4 jars holding upto 2 oz each ....

Anyone have any experience with these boveda packs, any suggestions?

IMO..... Boveda pak's are good for long term storage, but you should dry properly first.
They become hard as they absorb moisture, 2 paks should not do any harm, but I don't
believe they are a replacement for a proper slow dry..

Dry your pot more then put in boveda. They act slow, too moist and mold happens.

OK cheers guys, the reason I got these packs in there is because the humidity in my area is 80%+ UK weather (shitty england). My plan and only option now I think is what someone suggested to turn the light off in my grow room and stick the buds in a paper bag for an hour or two but with the lights off humidity will slowly creep back up in that room. So I will have to keep an eye and see how much drying time I can get :/ temps will be 27 ish in the room though. Buds have been sitting in the jars for 1 week plus at 69-71% humidity burping is doing nothing. I have also even put them on newspaper to dry out for 2 hours or so. Don't know what else to do. Cant get this humidity down and cant afford a good enough de-humidifier.

Open the jar up for awhile to dry out. Save your broveda pack til you get the proper humidity you want the buds to be. I usually dont start using the packs till about 5 days or so

Its been 1 week + they wont dry , I'm going to try putting them in my grow room just after I turn the lights off its the only option I have. (area here in uk is 80+ humidity)

Put a fan circulating on them( by circulating I mean, blowing on them and off them) for 12 hrs then jar em back up for 12, then start to burp. Its ok if they get crispy dry on the outside, when you jar them, it will sweat out the moisture inside. Its ok, I've done this. Curing is an art, it will take you a couple times and you will have it down

They are out right now with a oscillating fan blowing above them to keep the air moving with the door open a tad in a dark cupboard.. Humidity is 70% temp 21-23 ish, temp will drop soon to about 15 - 18c and humidity will rise to about 80%+ as evening is coming.

I am trying them out of the jars again now for a 3rd time but this time for 12 hours instead of 2 to 4 WITH an oscillating fan blowing above. Before they were just sitting in an open room with the windows open.

Its my climate making this a difficult task.

Man quit your bitching. It should take about 2 weeks before they ready to jar. Even in 100% humidity it will still dry.

I use 2 packs per jar as well, one top and one bottom of the herb


Also its really not OK if it gets crispy. That section of the plant will not maintain gas transfer even after moistened again..think of the chopped plant like a cutting

As much as I dislike you saying I'm bitching, the 2 weeks thing is valuable to me as I didnt know it could take so long but considering my environment (very humid 80+) I guess it can.

How should i test this out, its laid out on cardboard flat with no buds ontop of eachother, should I jar up 1 oz. every 12 hours to test humidity in jar. Because quiet honest im not sure of the feel and I don't want them getting too dry...
