Low and slow drying then jar burping to air exchange as chlorophyll is being broken down . A simple hygrometer in jar will monitor internal rh - then boveda pack in when you can stabilize the jar alone without pack.

Boveda isn’t designed to do the major work only to keep it at desired range.

Spores like mold ? Why you think there’s mold ?
More guys will chime in.Wait and decide but the peroxide is a good idea.Peroxide turns to oxygen in a few minutes. If any of those dead leafs pull out easily, you have some necrotic tissue in there.

Yeah, i see mold potential in those dying sugar leaves. If they pull off easily theres probably mold in the buds, fuzzy white butrytis. Either way a peroxide wash is a good idea for outdoor bud. Two cups of 3% peroxide to three gallons sounds about right, dunk a couple times then a freshwater soak/rinse before hang drying.

Necrotic leaf tissue the plant looks unhealthy ?
Everyone is trying to be nice, that plant is baked, cooked, done. Harvest it... Wash it...

Ideally you should remove all of the dried up leaves. That is where mold could start and at the least is going to make the buds taste like shyt.

Once washed, cut the branches off the plant and hang in the dark for the first stage of drying. Ideally 50% rh and 60ish degrees. If you can't maintain those conditions don't worry too much about it. Just check them daily.

When the buds start to feel crispy on the outside, hopefully a week or so, cut the buds off the branches and put into containers. I never did get the hang of the "when the branches snap" thingee

I use Rubbermaid totes or whatever lidded container that will hold about three quarters of the volume loose filled. Put a hygrometer in the contain and give it a day to give a stabilized reading.

Ideally they will be in the high 60's. This is the start of the cure period. Burp for a few minutes a day until they reach 62% or 58%. Pick one. 62% is a bit wet for joints, I prefer 58% as I grind for joints or pipe.

At that stage put them in their storage containers and add whatever pack you have decided to use. I vacuum seal in 1 L wide mouth mason jars.

Done. Store in a dark cool cupboard. Good for years.

Cheers.

Could light rain cause mold
Absolutely. Look up Doc Buds bud washing tutorial online. It will tell you how to do a proper bud wash. It looks like you have some bud rot already going on but it's hard to be tell from the pics. I'd harvest right now and do the peroxide and then the baking soda wash that Doc Buds recommends. It will kill any bugs and mold you have and clean your buds. Just be sure you shake the excess water off and let a be fan blow on them until they're not dripping before you begin your regular drying routine.

So after I clean with 3% peroxide I clean after with regular water correct ? And what I dumb the buds in them ?

I'd have to look up the steps. There's three buckets if I'm remembering right or four. One for peroxide, one for baking soda and lemon juice in case you had any powdery mildew, and then one or two rinse buckets. Just type "Doc Bud's bud rinse method" into any search engine on the internet and you'll get the step by step directions. Sometimes I'll skip the baking soda step but it's a good idea as it's a great organic wash and will loosen up any dirt, dead buds, bird shit etc in the weed and help it flush away when you are gently dipping the buds into the buckets. I always wash outdoor garden stuff and indoors that had pests or a lot of foliar sprays. Get new clean 5 gallon buckets from the hardware store or Walmart. Don't use some old paint buckets. It's your crop going in there.

I use a five gallon pail of water with a quart or liter of 3% peroxide, dunk the branches, bundle the plant with string if you want, dunk a couple times cuz the peroxide needs air to work. Theres another step here with baking soda, lemon and water but i just soak them in about twenty gallons of water in a big tote, maybe a minute with a little swish to rinse the bugs and crap that aren’t floating in rhe peroxide. Then hang dry with a fan drawing air across them. Outdoors you get bugs, dust pollutants and mold if if its cold and damp. Worst is caterpillars in the buds, pepper-like frass all over the place. I see em hatch and hang off buds while the plants drying. Anyway, nice plant to chop down.

Yeah, the peroxide will kill the caterpillars and you'll see the little bastards sometimes in the drying room hanging down from little threads of silk. Makes you really glad you did it and wish you were more careful inspecting the weed you ground up
