Day 49. Frosty as heck and very green still. I've had some leaf drop that looks like P def, not much, but still. Foliage Pro may not be quite 'complete' enough to use straight through. I'll add some bloom food after the stretch next time, which will commence as soon as these are done. Shorter more compact plants are clearly a must. Still, I'm satisfied I will be getting an acceptable yield of high quality bud and that's the name of the game, right?

Day 50 and I'm pretty sure I'll not get to 9 weeks. These are starting to look quite done right now. Hard, dense nuggets covered in a increasingly amber frost. I have to go away for a week tomorrow. I'm sitting on the fence whether to cut the tops today and let the rest go for another week versus letting it all go until I get back in another 8 days. Lurking opinions welcome.

I can't say enough how happy I am with those lights. I tried to be as neutral about them as I could, but they are so darn easy to work with and around and the results seem to bear out what I've seen others do with them. There could be another in my near future. Area 51 gets my endorsement, I'll be waiting for their check, lol.

On to the porn:

Six days away from harvest and I'm half way across the continent. Gotta love active hydro with a decent size reservoir for that alone. Not that I don't get anxious and worry, but I've gone up to 14 days before with no problem, but not usually this close to harvest. PH will probably be a little low, but the res was down to 140ppm when I left on Monday, so they're basically on water anyway. They better be extra chunky when I get home.

This batch is so stinky I'm hesitant to harvest. I need a day long rainstorm to keep people off the street with their windows shut!

Rating led performance, I would say my buds are at least as dense and frosty as those I've grown with 1k of hid. Definitely no going back, no way. the future is here.

Trimmed and hung for a week. Now jarred. I was conservative on what I bothered to trim and ended up with 180 grams of very nice, dense buds. I have an equal amount of fluff and trim that went directly into the freezer for extraction. I'm sure I can do better, but I did no real shaping or cultivation other than to top the, for four tops. Thinking of scrogging the next ones which are pretty much ready to go. If I can eliminate the understory and create a more even dense canopy I believe I can double the yield or better.
Trimming was indeed a verrry stinky process. Really couldn't control the smell at all. Is it possible that the reduced radiant heat resulted in more aromatic compounds that would otherwise have been volatilised under HID?

I think you sold me on the 190.
Lots of folks are saying the rw150 performs as well as the xgs with fewer watts but the white light is so easy on the eyes I'm happy to work with these. Now that I know their capabilities I can work on maximizing results.

I agree, my first ever indoor grow done with one xgs 190 went very well. I pulled just over 6 oz of nice hard buds. I just ordered another and it was shipped last Thursday. Really liking the bright light for maintenance. Just a solid choice. Nice grow by the way and enjoy the smoke, looks awesome.

- Improved airflow under the canopy
- plant energy directed toward buds and productive sun leaves (those exposed to light)
- Decreased pest and disease. Disease often begins at the soil leaf junction and these lower branches often harbor pests.
