Im an optimist, I think you should buy good shit and let it do its thing. If I was worried about one of my rigs I wouldnt be running it. The product we grow has way more value than a dumb light, if the light produces and is reliable , buy it, same goes for filters. If I planned for failure id have to find a new job, seriously, but I really, REALLY like burnin in the morn and maintaining my mood if ya know what im sayin. Buy once, buy smart

If I were using HPS I wouldn't worry about it cause every grow shop around carries it but quality LED takes time to replace because nobody stocks it in the stores.

Iv never had a light failure, iv needed to make the run for a new filter when I get back from the club at 4 am and realise my block smells like a rotten rhinocerous ass hole but never had a light just die. Fuckin sucks when you get out of the car and say WTF, my house stinks,,,,,a lot.
 
Im not even talking weight dude, you fail to take into account the random cooky shit that can happen sometimes. Earthquake for any you cali boys???? Just cus it has not happened yet does not mean it never will, not saying be ready for the infinite possibilities that life has. Guess I just have real shit luck in life, my pops told me when I was young he thought we (family) were cursed lol.

I use 4 rachets. 2 will do just fine if that's all someone has. I have metal trusses stewed into my ceiling joist. Them I have eye hooked long bolts a washer and a nut behind it...the washer and bug slid into the trusses and I can move it all over the track. No problem on a joist.

Funny you mention that. I don't know if you saw when I first tested the at600 with out any plants.
Fast forward to 9:47

An at200 weighs 15lbs...then you get 4 in a 4x4...and your at 60lbs...
So my question is how much does an a51 weigh?

Yeah , I fail to take a lot of shit into account, I dont plan for tsunamis or arctic blasts, I plan for steady power and water, if I dont have either of those I really wouldnt give a shit about my grow. 4 A51s aint gonna be runnin after an earthquake either.

I'm not knocking the AT600,I'd just rather have 4 AT200's
 
You fail to see the point....although you kinda do, nature! Sandy, tornadoes this week, katrina, seismic activity.... I am not trying to knock the apache, do not believe I have even mentioned the weight of it (pretty sure my carbon filter is heavier), the fact that I am TRYING area 51 is regardless. I am done with this point, I am sorry GG for sidetracking. Will sit in the corner now

Cool, but 4 lights have the same chance of running as 1 does after a natural disaster , why over pay for 4 when 1 will do the job? Apache doesnt seem to have the negative reviews or random problems or burnt smells that other rigs have, that tells me a lot. The reviews are all here so I wont debate about rigs I dont own. But I get it, run 4 instead of 1 incase you have an earthquake or your rigs randomly shut down, im with ya.
 
I'm kinda lost on where this is going and how it got here, but one last point for the at600...if 1/4 of the goes out...you still have 3 in there working. All their own drivers. Actually 8. 1 driver for 3 cell clusters. So I would still have a good amount of the light working till I get it fixed. And AT would cover any issues. The only thing that is different than a quick fix version is that you need to solder instead of quick connects. Nothing anyone one here would have an issue doing. Some people, like a few of you here, like to have multiple units. And I totally understand. I will have multiple lights next run so I will show everyone if there is a difference.

Honestly the talk of what if it fails is good, but I can tell you my 10 at120's, an at200 and a at600...nothing has ever been wrong with them, and the at120 ran for years straight. My professor runs his 24/7 and 18/6 for since 2011, he is a clone guy. Yet he did the best flowering run I know of with them. Skills period and good light.

I have said it many times before, just use the search function, when getting a 1 or a couple lights, a51 is the best value for the price. After that the at600 becomes an option and is negligible in price difference. Then when price isn't an issue so much per say, the design is truly on what the person believes or trust will do the job. It's up to everyone to make their own decisions. The more grows that happen and get documented the better.
 
I think everyone is refferring more about falling and breaking or getting zapped by an electric spike. Which is very common during storms or the annual rolling black outs in Cali every summer.. Unless you use solar and wind power. My power went out twice around 7 am the other day. They were upgrading shit outside though. Luckily no lights were on at the time

I'm with jbone on this...at this point it wouldn't matter what lights you have...if one big unit or several multiple unit, it would fuck them all if it fucked one.
And I am in CA too. Not too many black outs up here...but they don't break lights. At least not any normal power outage. No power=no light...power back=light back.
 
they're looking the same size now. The led side chunks up more in the end. Hps side is more gradual right?
