I bet you walk around pointing that thing at everything you see for the next two days
Should have made that bet before I opened it. Me and everyone in the house are fascinated with it...plus it has the laser pointer part to mess with the dog.

The sun was like 480* this morning. Only goes up to 585*F
Definitely a fun toy. Water proof...shock proof...greengenes proof!!

And you wonder why the batteries keep going dead.
Wait there's more...it's rechargeable.

$29 for the basic POS one
Or
$35 on sale(reg $59) for this nice one...both ryobi's.

And when I walked in the guy said "No...we don't have those. What would that before?"
Well one it's a thermometer...ANYTHING I want to know the temperature of with out touching.
And 2 yes you guys do carry them...2 different ones.

When I was a kid home depot people were gods of home improvement...now they are as worthless for help(I'm sure they are great people).
Don't get me wrong...some know their shit better than anyone but it sucks when I have a question and I know far more than the "expert"

sweet find. home depot employees are great. You ask a question then you follow them to some one else that can help and that process repeats 2 or 3 more times and the you are on your own. I think the female cashiers have more knowledge of the store than everyone else.

Exactly how it goes. I usually just avoid and say I'm good, but I was in a jillybean inspired good mood so I played along.

I even went back to them before checking out to say "Hey, I found it...hardware by the stud finders

Never said they had an axe to grind or an agenda...just saying that it contradicts everything we know in the led world(it's wrong). And what we have already found proof of that article being off or outdated.

Real world applications(<50*C) and a top chip basically runs at 100% for the whole stated life(50,000hrs). Meaing the better your cooling system is...one could intheroy have a top end chip(no/under10% diminishing) for 10 years of flowering.

The other day when I was in my room I saw a leaf that had mite...FUCK ME. So I took apart the garden and checked every plant all over. found a couple more leaves but they were basically isolated to a couple leaves. They will spread, just saying for now they are not bad.
It's day 55 tonight I believe so hell no am I spraying anything.
I bought some lady bugs and let them loose. With nothing but the spider mights and a few gnats, they will clean the room of pest quickly I hope.
That is my plan to hold me to harvest. It's spring and everything is coming alive again...pest too. So I just need to be more careful and clean in the future.

Also speaking of pest... my kale and the rest of my veggie garden had series white file...Garlic water and they are gone. So for anyone with a white fie problem...use garlic spays. Used the rest of my lady bugs out in this garden so they didn't go to waste.

try stinging nettle, friends garden had mites, i told him to cut down and start over because it looked bad to me, but if he had too to try stinging nettle, got to give it to him, he sprayed daily with nettle and he won within 2-3 weeks!

ive been doing a lot of investigating on to why growers experience bug problems, especially in "controlled" environments,
first off bugs are every where, mites are everywhere.

to me it seems like its all connected to the medium. some of these hydro/bag/coc grows grow so fast that theres constantly new growth forming, new growth that cant build up defense because all its energy is going to constant growth. immune systems weakens and bam, a mites paradise.
just typing my observation and thoughts, no point attended. DAB

I just caught the start and isn't going to effect anything...but mites are mites. I can say that an early harvest is NOT happening. Guaranteed.
With that said, I basically don't have time for anything...a day is more time than I would like. I introduced the lady bugs on day 53. And harvest is 63. So spraying is not an option...no matter what it is(even water).

The clubs I go to check everything with a usb microscope...lady bugs eat the whole mite and eggs, not just leaving them dead in my buds.
It's not a hail marry of solutions...I thought it out and they are the my best option.

Look for the oldest guy you can find. They hire two kinds of people. Retirees who have a lifetime of experience, and students who don't even have a clue as to how little they know.

I wish you were right...
The kid knew what it was but didn't know if they carried it in store. So he took me to the old man...old man didn't even know what it was..."what is that for?"...

Anyways...I have it...problem solved...and back to my usual reopens to depot people "no, i got it"

My experience is that the "old farts" are more useful. But, true, they're not perfect.

Damn sucks about the mites. But sounds like you got to it before it got out of hand. Now just maintenance mode. Were the mites specific to any side of the grow, mostly on the led or hps side? Go ladybugs.

More on the hps side...but I found them on both sides and at the same time. Who know which came first or what not.

EDIT:
Ya...captain's post below this is perfect.

Just like plant growth with there being a optimum temp and humidity, most bugs are similar and usually like warmer more humid. If both sides have them I would think the HPS side would spread faster.

You posted while I was typing.

Lady bugs work if they are established, takes time imo.
Look into predatory mites, those work wonders.
I spray up until a week ir two before harvest, never ever had a problem. Most sprays i use are botanicals.
