2 1000 Watt Air Cooled hoods in a 4z4 tent overkill?

lol looks like at least a 4 x 8 space. a 4 x 4 would have the two hoods almost touching one another with little space between them and the wall.

I just moved these out of the 4x4 and that's what the above pics show. first pics of post are the 4x4 tent. Now they have about a 10x10 room

Ahhh, problem solved! I tried to do 2k in a 4 x 12 space that was only 52" tall. I used water cooled fixtures. That's when I noticed that the buds that were 36" away from the bulb were always the nicest. The closest ones were not. Even when I went 3 x 600 I needed more space.

Looks like a nice space 10 x 10 is sweet.

definitely an overkill just think about the size of the plants you would need to fit 2000 grams of plant into it and much less 4000 grams it's just an incredibly inefficient use of the light.y

Ha I have the same area 4x4x8

I use 2 400W air cooled hoods but no air cooling in the hoods (Yet)
I would use 2 600W but I bought the 400Ws for a perpetual that won't happen for at least another year. Now I regret not buying the 2 600W like I was going to.
I figured 2 tents and 2 400Ws would be enough to keep me high all year long.

Personally I'd never buy a 1000W for a tent period, only 600Ws. If I needed 2000W I'd buy 4 600W 2 hoods and put 2 lights in each hood in my 4x4 area. I'd use a inline to suck all the air out both hoods (Both hoods connected) and it'll regulate temps.

I wouldn't say overkill like people in here, I'd say unnecessary.
The only thing I'd watch out for now, is light burn and temps. 12 inches with 2000Ws over their head might burn them.
i have a 2x4 with 600 hps i put a 250cfm 6in fan to exaust and it get it down to 89. I would recommend no less than 400cfm fan for a 600w light.

Harvested 2 1/2 dry lbs weight from the room. Maui is insane, one plant topped a pound all by itself.
Was it your first run? If you get your system dialed in that weight is doable with half of the light. I think that 2.5 lbs puts you between .6 and .7 g per watt with 2000 watts. And in a 4x4 1000 watts should be able to do at least 2 lbs no problem.
