Okay I got distillilled water with a ph of just under 6 my city water is 8 I added nutes to the distilled brought the ph down to almost five, I drained off almost half the res and added the new mix (I played with dilution ratios b4 )checked the ph and it seems be stable at 5.5 so Here's lookin at you

You could start when ever you like. they can take a lot of light. Don't forget they grow under the sun.
For practical purposes you could Veg them under your CFL's until there ready to flower.
or you can put them under the HPS. You'll get more compact veg growth from the HPS over a MH.
It's your call man. Here is a good chart to help you with light distance.
Hey , a quick update, since I last postd the girls are doing great. The ph is very stable , when I increased the nute strength the distilled water is so ph low that it acts like ph down. When I grow I like to fluctuate the ph down to 5.5 or so then let it rise as the girls feed, I let it sit at 6.0-6.5 for a day or two then drop it. the cycle lasts about 3-4 days now instead of 3-4 hours., I going to put them in a 10 gal res next week and use tap water, the nute strengtjh by then should have the ph just about perfectly in the sweet zone. I guess I got my grow confidence back again also. The girls are really growing well , still under cfl, compact growth, mice broad indica leaves, 3rd set of spike leaves are growing ot now . I bought a buinch of "xtra nute treats" for the girls at the local hydro store theyseem to be diigin that too. All n all Im settin up for a stellar grow. top quality seeds, love and attention and PROPA PH. Thanks to all who chimed in to help. I
