We have been waiting for you or one of the many that have came before you to give us this answer. You make and stand by your claims so certainly you know the answer.when I trim the leaves on the apical dominance shoot there’s a decrease of certain auxins throughout the plant which allows these lateral shoots to produce new, vigorous growth
this is also how topping, pinching off and fim works so why can't
trim the leaves on the apical dominance shoot work the same ?
And the back peddling has left him in a corner. While there please do not get canopy management mixed up with your defoliation techniques...I don't get it
defoliated and trimming are more or less the same thing, you remove leaves in the hope to gain yield
why is there a HUGE difference between topping a plant and trimming a plant to get more colas ?

I have grown loads of plants just like these plants, just by trimming the leaves
I don't get it

To be honest I haven't read, nor do I plan on reading the entire thread. Whatever he did(at least that's what he is claiming) turned out well. I personally do trim leaves that get no light, I probably wouldn't ever trim off 99% of the leaves though.edit: and hey mrshim..you don't need a masters to understand translocation...just a little reading comprehension. Which apparently many are lacking here.
How do you decide which leaves are getting light and which ones are not? Curious is all....To be honest I haven't read, nor do I plan on reading the entire thread. I scrog, leaves under get cut after an X amount of time in flower. You can check out my grows they're all here. How do you decide which leaves are getting light and which ones are not? Curious is all....
well you don't have to read the whole thread. google is your friend
translocation....look it up
thanks mr2shim, yeh there a lot of growers on here that say defoliating plants is wrong and I have a degree in botany lolThat's impressive stickybuds, I've been defoliating my plants for some time, not to the extreme that you go but still.
Can't argue with people here, they grow a couple plants and all the sudden have a masters in botany.
Why not let the plant decide when to shed them? Plants are not into welfare. If it aint contributing then it aint hanging around! I am not calling you or your grow method out. Just using your post to make a point. Its all good....I scrog, leaves under get cut after an X amount of time in flower. You can check out my grows they're all here.
I don't think you understood my post.
are we the only people noticing this part? You COMPLETELY defoliated it and then allowed it to grow back. Thereby doubling your veg. time...if not longer.
No there are many of us that figured that out 2 or 3 or a 100 threads ago one this subject. And they all end up just like this one soon will...are we the only people noticing this part?
i feel like i'm taking crazy pills here.
Because the leaves to some degree do get light albeit very minimal. It takes quite a while for them to die honestly. I'd rather just get it over with instead of feeding a big ass fan leaf that isn't doing anything but sitting under a screen. Just so things are clear I'm not one of those tards that thinks weed whacking the plant will add ounces to the yield. Why not let the plant decide when to shed them? Plants are not into welfare. I noticed and IMO that is a bit extreme and not something I would ever do to my plant.are we the only people noticing this part?
i feel like i'm taking crazy pills here.
if you really have a degree in botany then you should understand how defoliation would bring the process of translocation to a halt.thanks mr2shim, yeh there a lot of growers on here that saydefoliating plants is wrong and I have a degree in botany lol
rightfully soNo there are many of us that figured that out 2 or 3 or a 100 threads ago one this subject. And they all end up just like this one soon will...
fucking right? wtf??are we the only people noticing this part?
i feel like i'm taking crazy pills here.
but why not?I noticed and IMO that is a bit extreme and not something I would ever do to my plant.
You seem like you are looking for an argument. Sadly, you won't find one with me. If you don't like my answer that's fine but I'll summarize in as little words as possible why I choose to do what I do..but why not?
if defoliating is good? go for the gold man.
seriously, a shaded solar cell still produces power. Just not as much as one in direct sunlight.
an accurate analogy there really.
You're welcomevery scientific explanation
thanks for clearing that up
