even more so are the things that govern ph.

But you seem to be under the impression that any liquid going into soil, should be ph adjusted first to 6.5

we are saying that's unnecessary, and can actually do more harm than good.

Ok back to it. I never adjust pH and my cannabis, herbs, garden veggies....ALL grow just fine. Not one pH problem. It's only on MJ forums people over exaggerate the issue in soil/soiless.

Yes the range of pH matters, thats a fact. Your take and ramblings on it and how it actually functions on the other hand is a totally different story all together. You simply do not have a clue...the fact you attribute 'droop' to pH and claiming you can almost rectify the 'droop' instantly by simply pouring a pH adjust liquid through the medium proves that empirically.

No its not. It actually averages between 4.0-6.0 depending on the region. And plants in nature grow just fine because why? The buffering ability of the soil. And us farmers pump water from ponds and creeks that usually are in the 7.5-8.8 range. And again our crops grow just fine and why? You got it, the buffering ability of the soil.

I believe its humus and organic acids that have a major role in chelation and nutrient availability, so yes it does work. You will never find just 1 loner cannabis plant anywhere in this world in nature. Fact of the matter is the soil must be rich from fallen and decayed plant matter to environmental encourage microbes. Microbes, organic acid, nutrients, moisture and herbaceous root excrement work together systematically. That's how and why it works with varying ph of source water in nature.

But they're right. If you add lime to your soil, it's going to STAY at that PH no matter what you pour into the soil, unless if you add something like aluminum sulfate to lower it. Sure I myself am adding acidic water right now to my soil, because I don't like what the lime has done, but that's very temporary and it will bounce back up to the lime buffer in no time. f I were the test the soil right now, it would be exactly where it should be with lime added despite adding 4-5 PH water to the soil a day before. I do think your OP was useful for some people. People that are amending lime to their soil, and then pouring high PH tap water into their soil, that is a disaster and your experiment shows what high PH can do in very little time.

We all know you can alter a mediums pH in many ways. Some beneficial and some harmful. Using lime, especially dolomitic, in our container grows is a beneficial way. But do not think you can top dress, water and the mediums pH will be changed within minutes or a few days as far as that goes. Wont happen as the reaction or cations take time to occur. In general at average temps and moisture levels 3 to 4 weeks is a realistic time frame to see reliable results.

On the other hand a harmful why would be to top dress with some sulphur and water in. Wouldn't take all that much to send the pH in to the tank and kill your plants. Now this could and would happen within a day or so. Trying to use baking soda to raise pH, pretty much the same scenario.

Simply pouring 6.5 pHed water through 7 or 5 pH soil will not change the pH to 6.5. It may lower or raise it slightly depending on what it has been physically flushed from the medium. Odds are though it will buffer back to or at least near the level it was before the flush. Buffering and stabilizing a medium pH for container growing is not achieved in this manner.

Absolutely not. But now this goes back to my earlier post when I spoke of stability. And also the rain water ph post. If cannabis has an ideal ph of 6.5 and despite the on going natural buffering of a proper made soil, administering ph stabilized water is maintaining consistency at the plants ideal /optimal ph. A buffer for a buffur, hows that?.
