Now me, i don't think that Sylvan's offering is at all un-American. My primary, uuhhmm, beef ... would be that it is labor-intensive. If you're making a dozen for entertaining, the labor per sandwich comes into line, but it would take a hobbyist approach toward cooking to do that regularly for one or two. While I am not at all tempted to go vegan, I admire the inventiveness of the originator of that recipe. I would like to think that "trying new things" is a positively American attribute ... cn

and it was pretty good too. not the best sandwich but it was good.

I think my favorite sandwich type food would be an italian beef, the whole sandwich dipped in the juices, and w/ sweet peppers, but it has to be from a quality source in chicago. Not just any ol beef will do.
Beef, dipped, sweet!

That looks very nicely done, however it runs into my downright autistic pickiness about food. Ingredients in there that are a dealbreaker for me are maple, pecan, apple, paprika.
Substitutions:

Maple: honey mixed with water until you get maple texture, flavor with vanilla extract. Or molasses.

Pecan: marinade raw walnuts in a low salty brine with lemon juice and water for about 12 hours. Dry roast.

Apple: pear, optional with dried cranberries.
Maybe also try slightly rehydrated banana chips until you have apple texture. Another choice is get a vegan bacon and drizzle some apple sauce liquid while frying.

Paprika: 3 part chili powder, one part sugar.

There's also 9 other sandwiches.

Two sandwiches come to mind when answering this question. First of all is a Burger King Gangbang (yeah, I said it, lol). It's a BK Double stack with a piece of chicken in between the patties. With extra bacon, jalapenoes, extra onions, extra stacker sauce, mustard and mayo.
Second sammich is an Angus patty, bacon, red onions, jalapenoes, swiss cheese, red bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, mayo and spicy mustard, all wrapped up in a 12" toasted sub roll, with bean sprouts on top.

Ur beef with the Beefless Sammich huh, lolz. And I gotta ask u Smok3h when U threw up did it taste just like that vegan sammich looks? Lol, j/k I won't rip on the vegans anymore. Just reminds me of the Futurama episode where the hippies bring out the vegan Lion, we wouldn't have teeth made for ripping flesh from bone if we were supposed to eat fuckin Lima beans and cucumbers forever.

Really? Which teeth are those? You mean the "canine" teeth? Those are for tearing stalks of plants, I mean meat.

Our teeth are exactly the same as a chimpanzee's and gorilla's.

Chimpanzees eat 99% plants. The only meat is mostly termites and other such insects. Rarely, a chimpanzee will eat a small animal, like a monkey, when traded for sex.

Gorillas are 100% vegan.

Try this as an experiment. Go in the woods. Using only your bare hands, like a chimp does, catch a mouse, squirrel, rabbit, fish, etc. If you do manage to catch something, you can only use your mouth and hands to eat it, no cooking. Now tell me, how suited are you to eat meat?

Omnivore teeth:

Raccoon:

Bear:

Herbivore:

Gorilla:

Human:

Humans like meat, cooked and seasoned. Try this other experiment. Get a pet rabbit. Give it on one end of the cage a piece of mildly seasoned cold cooked sausage, and regular rabbit food on the other end. Does that mean the rabbit is a meat eater?

what i dont get is that vegans pride themselves on eatin shit that doesnt live an doesnt get killed....like they forgot all plants are alive. silly vegans i would eat all vegan if i had the money an patience to eat that many veggies a day to get the carb/protein count i do with meats.

When did I say plants aren't alive? I just value plants less. All animals need plants to survive, or eat animals who eat plants. That doesn't mean I don't respect plants. I like plants and we shouldn't waste them.

http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm

"So, in the United States it appears that vegan diets are commonly
lower in protein than standard American diets. Remember,
though, with protein, more (than the RDA) is not necessarily
better. There do not appear to be health advantages to
consuming a high protein diet. Diets that are high in protein may
even increase the risk of osteoporosis 4 and kidney disease 5."

I've been a vegan over 3 years, and a vegetarian over 10. It's not that hard to get the proper nutrition. The US government subsidizes meat and animal products, because the animal food industry lobbies them. You can't collect EBT food stamps if you are a vegan store. There's so much propaganda against vegetarians/vegans.

What's silly is you spouting like you know nutrition, then calling vegans silly.

Those lima beans you mentioned are one of the highest sources of carbohydrates for a non-grain or non-starch. A half cup of lima beans serving contains twice the protein as an egg and 1.5 times the protein as a slice of bacon.

first off i wasnt talkin bout you when i said that. if i was i woulda said your name in front of it. way to go takin it personal tho. also you're not tryin to have strong/large muscles like i am. i know carbs come from breads an pasta, but last time i checked bread an pasta dont go too well with a veggie diet. also you need high amounts of protein to gain muscle mass. i know enough about nutrition to know that i'd be hard as fuck to gain weight off a vegan diet. dont come at me all crazy cause you think you know what i know about nutrition.

an when the fuck did i mention lima beans?

One of the strongest men was a vegan. You don't need meat for gaining muscle.

Do you look anything close to this vegan?

Vegans can do anything meat eaters can. Michael Phelps would've still won gold on a proper athletic vegan diet, and possibly done better on one.

Why did you open your mouth about vegans then? If I hadn't posted a vegan sandwich, you and everyone else would've not made those comments.

Apparently you don't know about nutrition, otherwise you wouldn't say I'm not trying to gain muscle. Carbohydrates don't magically work differently for vegans. Nutrition and fuel work exactly the same, no matter if you eat meat or not. I've worked out in the past and gained muscle just as fast or faster than a meat eater. Just look at Killa.

I said in the edit I was wrong about you and the lima beans. It was the guy above you. Funny, I put the edit the exact second you hit reply!

Vegans aren't silly, meat eaters like you are who have no idea what a vegan diet does and wrongly think nutrition works different eating "veggies." Just because I 'm vegan doesn't mean I mostly eat veggies. It'd be like me assuming all meat eaters only eat mostly meat.

You will gain weight on a vegan die if you work out. It's all about calories and proper nutrition which gains weight. Ever notice how those iron men contests on ESPN, besides muscle, they have lots of fat? Notice how lean Killa is? He could've taken them all on.

Unless your goal is a sumo wrestler, a proper vegan diet will get the results much faster and healthier than with meat. Working out doesn't get rid of cholesterol or unblock arteries. Why do you think Clinton went vegan? It's because what you eat is what prevents heart disease and cholesterol. It didn't matter Clinton was exercising properly.

Another problem with a western animal product and meat diet is it's too much acidic protein. Even working out and lifting weights is still too much protein. Any excess protein will get neuralized with calcium from your bones and filtered by your kidneys then becomes stressed. So the high impact stress of trying to gain muscle with weaker bones, means more broken bones.

Canna, you posted skulls of omnivores that are heavily biased toward carnivory. A pig is a more proper omnivore, and it has our grinding molars, not a raccoon's tearing ones.

And gorillas are omnivores ... their diet is not exclusively vegetation. An herbivore skull would be more cowlike, with massive grinding molars, a wide gap, and front teeth designed to crop grazing.

Here is a tongue-in-cheek study in the inspired misuse of statistics to learn something unexpected about gorillas. cn

you're takin this shit way far from the statements i said. firstly im way more cut than that dude an i eat meat in damn near every meal. it is true you can gain muscle an be vegan thats why i said ITS HARD AS FUCK not impossible. when i said vegans are silly i speak to the peta ppl an like minded mentalities because they are too dumb to get they kill an eat things that were alive too.

ok so if you're a vegan an you dont eat mostly veggies then what do you eat? mostly fruit? protein shakes? im a meat eater an i mostly eat meat.

ok so you have one dude who had decent muscle mass by eatin vegan an i know i can name another dude that did it as well, but the vast majority of ppl who build muscle an want to eat meat. i never once said there is anythin wrong with vegans just some of their mentality. please dont lecture me about nutrition ive been eatin clean an workin out for many years so i know what proper nutrition is.

im sure clinton went vegan cause he would stuff his fat ass face with fast foods on a daily baisis an fucked his body up in that process. somethin i dont do. so i should believe you when COUNTLESS health professionals say to eat a gram of protein per pound you weigh at least? lol right i been eatin western meat all my life an ive never broken a bone in my body so i mean my bones are straight. thats what milk is for.

oh btw i highly doubt "killa" could hang with any of the strongmen esp if he was a bodybuilder. thats just a silly statement.
