We have to get rid of shotguns too. Somehow they stay off the radar. Even the president thinks thats what we should own. This blew my simple mind:
5.56= .224 dia projectiles , 30 rounder equals 30 projectiles as fast as someone could pull the trigger 30 times
12 gauge #4 buck= .224 dia projectiles x’s 21 each round meaning this shoots 42 exact dia projectiles as fast as someone could pull the trigger twice!!!!!???

looks like someone with bad intentions could reload it lickety split

We now interrupt the display of gun porn in a thread about mass shootings with another headline about mass shootings.

Gunman Kills 10 People In Shooting At Los Angeles-Area Dance Studio
The shooting in Monterey Park, California, occurred near where thousands of people had attended a Lunar New Year celebration.

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (AP) — A gunman killed 10 people at a ballroom dance studio amid Lunar New Year celebrations and then may have tried — but failed — to target a second dance hall, authorities said Sunday. An urgent search was underway across the Los Angeles area for the suspect.
LA County Sheriff Robert Luna said the shooting at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park left five women and five men dead and wounded another 10 people. Then 20 to 30 minutes later, a man with a gun entered the Lai Lai Ballroom in nearby Alhambra.

Tony Lai, 35, of Monterey Park was stunned when he came out for his early morning walk to learn that the noises he heard in the night were gunshots.
“I thought maybe it was fireworks. I thought maybe it had something to do with Lunar New Year,” he said. “And we don’t even get a lot of fireworks here. It’s weird to see this. It’s really safe here. We’re right in the middle of the city, but it’s really safe.”
An Associated Press/USA Today database on mass killings in the U.S. shows that 2022 was one of the nation’s worst years in terms of mass killings, with 42 such attacks — the second-highest number since the creation of the tracker in 2006. The database defines a mass killing as four people killed not including the perpetrator.

The latest violence comes two months after five people were killed at a
Colorado Springs nightclub.

We return you now to your celebration of killing machines amid reports of carnage caused by them.

"Police are categorizing the shooting as a “targeted attack.”

"..leaves no doubt that someone specifically focused on that residence."

"Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna identified the suspect as Huu Can Tran, a septuagenarian he said used a high-capacity magazine pistol to shoot up a ballroom dance venue. The sheriff said the pistol Tran used appeared to be illegal in California, where state laws ban any magazine holding more than 10 rounds."

Terrible. Even In the state with the strictest laws on the books. Hopefully when they catch him the judge doesn’t give him a one dollar bail.
looks like he offed himself. In the scheme of things it doesn’t make it any better for the victims or their families but that’s what happened. What a POS

Id be ok with it because they don’t allow the families to off him and i don’t believe a single penny of taxpayers money should pay for his continued existence.

what does age have to do with anything? old people don't get pissed? maybe the ones that were stupid young people and stayed that way...anyone with a brain should be pissed about a lot of things. not saying being pissed is justification for shooting anyone, but to say that old people shouldn't be mad enough to shoot anyone is just silly. Age has nothing to do with your ability to assess a situation and be upset at that assessment...
i'm 57 and just as righteously angry about republicunt bullshit as i've ever been...hell, more angry, as i'm one of the older people who bothers to try to continue to learn new things, instead of sticking my head up my own ass for a sense of stupidly false security...

oh, and as a "white southern"...screw you.
you're just all kinds of racist, ain't you?

this look like all mass shootings happen in the south? looks like the west and the north east are pretty fucking active to me.

We can close this now..too many to count every day.
Never too many to count.
What we can close are loopholes in laws. We could amend the constitution, repeal the second amendment...Rewrite it to make sense in the modern world, where the only militias are run by white supremacist domestic terrorists.
Allow people to have fire arms, but under a lot stricter controls. No magazines with more than 6 rounds. for anything. Anywhere. Ever.
Bump stocks and any other prohibited modifications will land you at least ten years in prison. Anyone caught in possesion of or manufacturing 3d printed weapons, same penalty. No civilian reloading, only businesses will be able to buy the equipment, the primers, or the powder to do so, same penalty for possessing it illegally.
NO more person to person sales, ever. You go through a licensed dealer, or you go to jail.
NO more constitutional carry. You prove a need, you take a class, and you can NEVER carry in a bar, at a public facility like a park or a school, anywhere that doesn't apply to your stated need on your permit...If you got it for work reasons, you better be doing work while carrying it.
All of this ^ is no more than the rest of the world does to keep things under control. It works for them. It will work for us.
