Hey everyone,

I live in a small town, Meadows of Dan, and they just legalized marijuana in VA and we're allowed to grow four plants. I'm growing my babies in a small closet. Not really sure if I have the correct lighting but they are growing, they look pretty good, two of them are about 2 ft and 2 a little taller.

I'm growing mostly because it's a safer alternative for pain instead of taking drugs like morphine, oxy, etc. Buying is very expensive and even though I did get a medical marijuana card while I was in Florida and would be eligible here, it's ridiculously expensive.

I did grow some when I was in my twenties but I'm 65 now and I don't remember :wall:.
I do remember how to make the butter so I can make edibles. Growing is a bit more difficult and I am so glad I found this site. I don't know how I found it but here you are.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.
:peace:

Welcome :)

It's a great time to be a grower & even better when its legal.

What types are you growing?

I just started some Green Crack (Sativa hybrid) and Caramelicious (Indica hybrid).
I'm using a Spider Farmer LED grow light in a 4x4 tent. I'll probably pick up another light when they switch into flower.

I've watched a few videos on making canna-butter and it looks do-able for my baking skills, haha. Maybe I'll try it this year if I have a good yield. If your recipe is different than what you see online, please post how you make your happy butter.

Heres a pick of my lil girls day6. Arent they just adorable. goochy goo goo. lol

I'm having trouble growing my plants but I do know how to make the butter. I got it out of an Easyriders magazine in 1978.

You need a slow cooker butter and of course some weed. You put the butter and weed in the slow cooker and fill it with water. Put it on high for at least 4 hours and then low for 2 days. You don't have to open it, you don't have to mess with it.

Turn it off after the two days, let it cool a little, then strain it with cheese cloth. Make sure you squeeze as much of the liquid as you can. Put that in the fridge and when it hardens you use the butter. Get as much of the green off of it cuz that'll be bitter.

I used to make couple of hundred cookies to bring with us to bike week in Daytona. I was known as The Cookie Lady. My mom by mistake ate one of the cookies when she was visiting. She said she didn't feel anything, does take a while to hit you. I never seen that woman dance or make jokes, she was very happy for a while .

Yeah I never knew about it for years either. Decarboxylation or something similar to that. Try a search on the site and you’ll get many hits. Basically weed needs a certain level of heat to convert THC acid to the psychoactive delta 9 THC that gets us high. I liked Samantha Miller on YouTube.
