Hmmm ... I think its called private charity.

Just think how far those hundreds of billions spent in Iraq would have gone to eleminate world hunger. When you put things in perspective, the Bush-Idol show was pretty pathetic. Private charity to suppress world hunger while spending hundreds of billions on world domination, Ho, Ho, Ho!

Typical socialist response, Med. Those are tax monies being spent by American tax payers on the war in Iraq. You can throw as many hundreds of billions of dollars at world hunger and you want to, and you'll never make a dent in it until the economic systems in each of the "hungry" countries are changed. Try capitalism for a change.

Free market capitalism. CEOs with multi Million dollar salaries, Cutting costs and jobs to maximize profit, running ripshod over people and resources to appease the holders of stock certificates with no regard for the public safety or welfare, sounds like your Ideal world.

Yep, I have several clients who lived under communism in Eastern Europe. They tell horrible stories about living in the ideal worker's paradise that Med would like to create for us.

wow.. .. YOU will even defend your ignorance ... i have not seen this side of you before...

You have NO clue what you are talking about... It would require 150 million dollars to rid the 1.5 billion people on planet earth of parasites.. 800 million of those people are kids.. have you ever seen a kid with parasites.. It is totally fucked..

15year old boys look like they are 10 years old...

they can't think or move right.. the parasites are comsuming 25 % of all their nutrients... And this damage lingers on for generations.. a mother than is mal nurished has malnurished children....

TO dig a well in africa can cost $8000.. a well can provide water for 2,000 people... do you know what that means...??

do you KNOW how many people on planet earth were not born near a water faucet... ??? You need to wake up bro..

Iloveyou

You are entering a dangerous place in your mind..... soon it will be impossible to talk to you at all..

iloveyou take this as the ultimate wake up call...

WE are all one here on earth.. we are all your thoughts..

You know what is really inane? Your personal attacks combined with that silly "i love you" thingie, that's what.

Have you ever crossed the border from San Diego into Mexico and wondered what makes such a difference in living standards between the two peoples?

You (we) could throw money at Mexico from now till Kingdom come and make no measurable effect until the Mexican government makes a change from their corruption to a free market system. Same goes for the other third-world countries.

Not off topic at all. I believe it was Med who's insisting that the monies spent on the war could be used to feed the hungry of the world.

i dont really agree with viread's pro war ideas but i can see where he is coming from. u can use money to feed world hunger, to rid people of parasites and to cure diseases. but countries that have such a difference between common folk and government (maybe including america too)
and have populations full of parasites and famine, cannot have their problems solved by giving money to their government to fix problems. i dont believe bush and his comrades really have america or the world's best interest in mind with their actions. but i do believe that over throwing a dictator or toxic regime and giving the people a chance to build a free country can be a good idea-- i'm just not convinced our (american) government is doing this for the right reasons...

Excellent post, Battosai.

Governments do a few things well and most things poorly. The more central the government, the more inefficient it is. Katrina is a good example of this. The federal government has thrown mega-billions at the Katrina problem, but the local and state governments are so corrupt that nothing is reaching the people. They are still living in FEMA trailers. The neighboring states, hit just as hard, are doing fine. Go figure.

Check history that is what we do.
We bomb and pillage and then we drop food from the sky.
Then we send in red cross.

I have not seen Sally Struthers there yet so must not be that bad.

Furthermore the price of oil has went up during this whole fiasco.
It cost me 45.00 to fill up with gas today.
What the hell.
Where is this money going?
Iraq and other oil producing sites should be the 52nd state of the U.S. by now.

I agree with you though, it is not our choice.
It is the choice of the people behind the curtain.

The president has been a puppet since way before any of us were born.
I think of the president as a public figure ( pr liaison).

Why is it when confronted with a factual statement such as: If we spent that trillion dollars from the War in Iraq on helping people have a better life, affording them some of the necessities that we take for granted, the world would be a better place. You come up with "I Hate communists, communists things never work out Blah, Blah, Blah"! The world is (Regardless of what you think) one huge commune. The problem is basically that the haves are too selfish to let the have nots have anything, fuck them, its their fault they were born into abject poverty and if they just worked hard, they could have what you have, I call absolute Bullshit on that!

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." -- Karl Marx.

In the U.S. alone, since 1965, we have thrown 6000 Billion (six trillion) dollars into the bottomless pit of "The War on Poverty." Socialists like you, Med, blame the Katrina aftermath on Bush, capitalism or free markets, when the real culprits are nothing more than government inefficiencies meeting the "hand-out" entitlement mentality. This is a mentality that has been promoted by your type of "thinkers" for a hundred years in this country. Where has it gotten us?
