wtf is wrong with these people?

Obviously his main priority is to be confirmed and then he can do whatever he wants when confirmed, hence why his answers are that he will examine the situation carefully and will not commit either way.

He has a 22-year history in the DEA, including very high positions, so it's not a stretch to assume that he indeed has no desire to reschedule cannabis.

I still beleive it will happen, Too many high profile personalities are trying to get it to a class 1 versus 3. With so many states now legal the only losers are those who are losing the tax base out of their states where it is illegal. Plus no reason teh feds need to be looking for cannabis, it's everywhere. Let them concentrate on the Fentynol crisis, Heroin BS and Medicaid fraud and abuse.

You make one hell of a great argument for it actually happening…

And, by the way the bullshit about not being able to own firearms while in possession of firearms is a load of rubbish that should be brought up at the SC and done away with permanently, Just my two cents worth

Oh, it will happen, it's just not happening during this administration. There's way too much money for his DEA pals to make by continuing to enforce federal cannabis laws and GOP is heavily influenced by the religious sects. It's going to keep going state-by-state until there's only a few states left where it's not recreationally legalized and then it will be federally legalized.

As for firearms and cannabis... cannabis is federally illegal, so it disregards what a particular state considers the legality of it, and the laws stated in a 4473 are federal laws. It's only logically consistent that federal gun laws only consider federal drug laws. But yes, as more states legalize cannabis, it will have to be addressed sooner or later.
