Would a 5000btu window AC with 240 watts trip breaker?

Wrong again! 22 gauge wire is NEVER used in house wiring.

14 gauge wire is required for 15 amp circuits!
12 gauge wire is required for 20 amp circuits!

You said "Throw in a 20 amp breaker if you can you wires should handle the extra 5 amps"
That's not a lack of clarity, it is dangerous advice, a violation of electrical codes and flat out wrong.

The amperage of the electrical service does not determine breaker size!

Upgrading to a 200 amp service isn't going to upgrade the house's wire from 14 to 12 gauge. Clearly you're not qualified to be making recommendations on electrical upgrades, so please stop before you help somebody burn their house down

That actually depend on the size of the breaker and the load .. generally the load is 80% of the breaker so that's sbout 12.0 amps on a 15 amp breaker.leaving 3 amp as s starup or surge .look on the air con. And see load should be about 9 so if that's sll that's on yhe breaker . Your answer is No it will not trip the breaker
