Inq, you shouldn't put an auto on 12/12. They should have at least 16 hours of light otherwise it will diminish your yield a considerable amount.

Day 21.

World of seeds Pakistan Ryder (autoflower feminized), World of seeds Afghan Kush ryder (autoflower feminized), and DNA LA Woman.
(From left to right). I'm sure you can see the other two seeds were planted later.

I have a small grow box, about 4' tall and 2' by 3'. inside i have a 250w mh/hps lamp inside. right now i have 2 plants about 1.5 wks old from bagseed (they aren't autoflowering seeds) . i just received Afghan Kush Ryder in the mail today and put them in a damp towel to germinate.
my question is that once they are all in the box together and the older plants are ready to flower, should i put the light on 12/12?
I need to know what light schedule would be good enough to satisfy the auto flowering Afghan Ryder and the other plants that are not autoflowering.
Plz help! first time grower.
Thanks!

Ok here are my suggestions to possible answers to your questions.

Once all of the plants and lighting are in place go with an 18/6 light cycle and just stick to it.
Buy an Aquaglobe for each pot a plant is growing in.
Buy a cheap timer.

Here is why i suggest as such:

Aquaglobe, this is in case you forget to water your plants for a weekend or spring break or whatever, it will pay for itself that first time, then you'll want to come back and toss me some rep for even suggesting it..

The newer plants need longer lit hours than the older plants so go by their schedule.

Older plants will need a place to sleep earlier than the younger plants so plan accordingly, IE: closet/cupboard/attic etc..

18/6 is a little cheaper for your power bill every month as opposed to what you will spend on a 20/4 or 24/0 as well, (run the numbers and you'll see it makes sense).

Oh yea, and look at my other thread here for the timer idea and just basic stuff:
