Windowsill Grow

Hello,

Just after some advice. I've done a windowsill grow of one dwarf plant. Very small and spindly but not bad for a first grow on a windowsill- (especially as i had to move it off windowsill as leaves were looking a bit obvious, lol).

So far its taken 4 months but i think its nearly ready. The buds are going sticky and those little white strands are turning brown but the little leaves around the buds don't look curled enough yet if that makes sense?

I shall post a pic up from my mobile in a while so you can all see and hopefully someone will know when its ready and how to harvest and dry out as iv'e not done this before.

And a few more.... plant is about just over a foot tall and is an indica/sativa strain. Instructions say ready in 6 to 8 weeks but as this was on window sill its taking over double the time. 20190921_105605.jpg 20190921_105610.jpg 20190921_105615.jpg 20190921_105620.jpg

Nice @OP. I like it! She close to being done. It's all your preference of high now as to when to take her. What strain is she? Looks like some decent genetics too.
You've done better your first grow than I've seen people with thousands in their setup do in their many runs. Looks like you'll get some decent smoke out it as well.

@heaze2010 doesn't seem to be much effort. Being his/her first grow, perhaps that was the point of a windowsill grow. Some learning with minimal input & effort. Just goes to show, MJ will grow in just about any conditions. She may not "put out" or express her true potential, yet she will thrive in half decent conditions or environments.

I agree with Merlin, @BB84 if you want to improve the next windowsill grow, need better drainage with the soil you have.Chunky perlite will do that. Or grab some potting soil with perlite in it. Not sure what soil or nutes you used if any.
Are you going to run another? I'd watch it or sub to the journal if you did one. I find it interesting, being the cheapskate...eh,frugal individual that I am.

I'd say a week to 10 days. You have majority milky trichs upon zoom. Take a sample nug of,let it dry for 3-4 days, try it. If you like it...then you are 4 days into the week, and can judge then if you want to take her.

I wasn’t trying to be a dick, but he was better off just buying an 1/8 vs growing that thing.

All good heaze. I didn't take it that way.I hope you didn't take what I said as an attack either. Wasn't my intent. Just good growing convo. Lol, he may get more than 1/8th from that, plus the grow experience.
Peace.

No lol, it’s cool. I didn’t want anyone thinking I was attacking him, I’m to blunt sometimes, that’s my fault.

Hiya,

Thanks for the info. Its an indica/sativa strain, i think 50/50. I think it was a VIP autoflowering dwarf type and gives off a lemony scent (thank god lol) i used john innes soil and just used gro sure plant feed untill budding stage. I planted it mid may so thats just over 16 weeks now.

The seed only cost £7.50 so i had nothing to loose. My main concern was prying eyes but luckily im first floor flat so you can only see it if you glance up from the road and it kind of looks like an umbrella plant haha! Im not really a smoker ( the very occasional pipe but thats it) i use it to eat.

When i buy it i spend £30 and that will last me 2 months lol, i think its prob 3 gram or more as its about £10 a gram here. I break it up, heat it in the oven for about 35 mins at 120-150 degrees C. Then each evening before bed i speinkle a small amount into some yogurt and i get the best night sleep ever and it must stay in my system as i feel the calming effect through the day.

If i get a good effect from this i shall definately do it again. I may get a couple of months use from the buds i think. I may try one over winter just to see what happens but it may be too cold for it, but ill definately put one in april/may time again and like you say do a journal to show progress 8)

Ok, thanks i shall try that. To dry it shall i just put it on windowsill so sun can dry it or should i do it another way?

Ill be alright i love my little planty , cant really do anything too big else ill get complaints about the smell lol
As already mentioned, next year get some better soil c/w perlite.

You may also have better results using an auto-fem as it will start flowering much sooner than a normal plant

Below is a Dwarf Low Flyer auto-fem....you could also consider growing some nice flowers to help mask the smell and camouflage the MJ plant.
