windows in room

In the room im setting up, there are 2 windows. Considering im putting the plants under artificial light, id imagine interference from other light sources would be an issue, as well as a security factor. Any suggestions on how to block these windows out easily? I was just going to wrap em up in some tarp or something. Thanks.

There are alot of stuff you can use from plastic to cardboard its up to you just make sure it doesnt look out of place like foil looks like shit. You could try a dark tint film u put on the glass to block out a view of what your putting on the inside like tint film then black garbage bags it don't draw attention that way

I hung blinds, then I put up some panda film behind that. Then I went and got some insulation foam, the stuff that comes in 4'x8' sheets and put that up. I'm a paranoid person.

Sounds pretty solid. I try and make sure that my panda over the window cannot "flap" or anythinging. With the window cracked a bit, or even closing interior doors, the panda can move, very unaturaly from the outside eye. I will be using plywood on the next room......

Good point! I would see it ballooned out or suck in, depending on the time of year and temperature difference's between the room and outside. Luckily my window frame is a little deep and hung the film on the outside of the window frame. Then framed the film with duct tape.

I have 2 widows aswell, I used Tin foil and duct tape. Can't see a thing from outside and its completely dark inside. It made a Cheap but more importantly Effective Remedy to the light issue.

The best solution here is to get blackout curtains, or make them yourself. You can get blackout fabric from a fabric store like Joannes real cheap and sew it onto your existing curtains, or just hang the blackout fabric itself as the curtains. The great thing is that the fabric is white, so it arouses no suspicion like carboard, duct tape, plywood, etc. The other thing is that it blocks out ALL light, every little bit. That is why they call them blackout curtains, I guess. They are also good for providing a thermal barrier from the sun during the summer, keeps the room from getting too hot.
