Will Trichomes get BIGGER?

I have a 60x jewelers loop but it's still really difficult to see if the trichomes are clear or milky. Do the trichs get bigger with time or are they genetically very small for some strains? I have 2 Dinafem criticals about 3-4 weeks into flower covered in crystals, but still very small and hard to see.

They have about 15-20% orange hairs

I hope I can see them soon. Would like to harvest in another 2-3 weeks if they're mostly milky trichs

They don't get bigger. I heard people use 200x loupes nowadays. I want to grow critical kush for my next grow.

That's what I thought. I will just wait. Should be able to see them if they were anywhere near ready. They smell sooooooooo good. Like sweet melon

Never heard of a 200x loupe. You may be referring to a microscope, which is is near impossible to use without chopping off a small piece of leaf or bud to look at under it...at least with the cheap ones. I got a 100x I think and it's a pain in the ass to use

That's the best/preferred way to do it. Snip off a leaf and check it under regular lighting. The color of the HPS can be misleading when looking at your trichome ripeness. Plus you won't me smashing and smearing trichomes everywhere on a bud. It's kind of like bruising fruit.

60x works just fine ;)

I was thinking of getting one of those little guys that hooks to the laptop. Kinda egg shaped. What's it called?
So you think I should maybe shine a spotlight that I have on the area I take pics of?

Yeah I've always wanted to get one of those to photograph my drysift cuz this is as close as I can get with the camera. I'd love to look at it under a scope.

What are you looking for at 3-4 weeks in-? I wouldn't waste my time looking unless I was in the last week or a week over... If you can't see the trichomes under a x60 you should go get your eyes checked I have a x30 and see mine perfectly.

Oh I can see them just fine, but they aren't big enough to tell whether they are clear or cloudy. I did snip off a leaf and they look clear to me. I'll just wait

They are all autoflowers to they flower pretty quickly. They will be done in 2-3 weeks

Its easier to tell the closer you get to harvest. Those clear ones sparkle under a loupe and the milky ones just look milky haha. Really what your looking for is when a few start turning amber and the rest are milky. Clear= no stone, more milky more stone, more amber more couch lock.
