Will seeds still germinate if they are 15- 40 years old?

If they are frozen, I think 10 years is tops. I had some from 10 years ago kept dark and dry. 100+ seeds. None came up... Good luck though Bro.

Most of my older strains like the ones my Dad ran & around 20 or 30 other strains he crossed & breed, and also a few strains he collected I keep those in the fridge. But the other 190 or so strains I just keep in my strain collection box. ;) I have them all labeled, with dates of there age, so I can store the oldest in the bunch in the fridge thed older theey get. But all the newer ones just stay in the box 4 the most part. ;) or in the growroom.

don't soak all the seeds at once if hundreds start to germinate you could find yourself disguarding some ancient strain not seen in years!
I would really love to hear the results. 2 days since posting you should have some results to share :)

I hear ya bro.. Ok, I have 35 -40 strains of just strains that my Dad & I have breed/crossed over the past 15 yrs. My Dad was a botanist & I had helped him grow b4 I even was old enough to over his work bench! Well, he had made 1 that I know for a fact that was back in the late 70's early 80's that he didn't even name, but he had tested it & it came back with a thc % of 22 to 26% thc around in that range. I just named it my past few grows of it "Hubba Bubba Bomb". Its a 100% pure Sativa, and it is a super yeilder aswell. Ok, those seeds have to be atleast 33 yrs old! And there still sprouting to this day 4 me. ;) I guess I will go ahead & give ya a trick to get a 100% germ rate.. ;) seriously! Get this shit!! I'm telling ya, it really does work & it can be used for germination! Great 4 clones also. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0055TEBEC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1371771225&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
Rapid Start.. I've never looked back! Haha..

Wow, seeds from the 70's! Get in there and start popping em. Would be great if you could preserve those genetics by way of one male and one female. I got online today just to post what I received in a trade and now I see that the seeds I traded for are relatively young (2002 Neville's crossed with a Grape of some kind.) I hope all of us that come across these older genetics are able to preserve them. There should be some type of genome project for cannabis. The grower I rec'd my Neville's x Grape from gave me an idea of what to expect on a printout from last year. THC 28% with noids and other phyto's that were at impressive levels. Cannot wait to grow some. Really anticipating what your 70's genetics have to offer as to stature, growth, aroma, and overall smoke. Such a privilege to grow something that old.

Haha! That's what I do bro. ;) I breed/cross strains all the time. Yup. Hubba Bubba Bomb is from the late 70's, and a few other are around that time frame & in the 80's. I would say atleast 32 of these where just my Dads strains alone. The other half I breed myself. I am working on a cross now. Doing a Ice x Blueberry x WW. Going to name it "Iced Bluberry". Or Blueberry Ice. Hadn't made my mind up really.. lol
