Will Michigan go legal for recreational in November and will it matter

I like that Michigan will lead the way for limits, but the whole regulate 'marihuana' like alcohol thing is a canard. There aren't limits on how much alcohol I can posses for one thing.
Not true. Here in CO there are no limits on how much weight you can possess in your residence.Whatever you can grow legally, you can keep legally. (thank goodness...it was a banner year)

Now going out and about is different...you have us beat there, I believe. It's a z here that's OK in public...in yer car/etc....not 2.5z like is proposed there....with more allowed if it's in a locked box.

Be aware though...like CO....once they see that 4-6 guys are sharing a house...and everyone has 12...they will likely rethink/change the limits (under the guise of "Public Safety" and without a vote of the People) or the mix of "Grow houses" and "neighborhoods" will clash as it did here. You know >someone< will pitch a bitch...

But good for you folks...sorta. No worries about LEO.....but no market no mo' to speak of. Prices will fall..as they have here...to crazy lows. If yer cash croppin...enjoy it...and plan for the future...cus the bottom is gonna fall out soon...real soon. Been there...done that. Back to personal growing (albeit major weight and I don't abide by their counts cus they fucked with them)...LOL....and growing for fun.... yup.

Mmk, well it would be 10oz per household, not individual in Michigan if the referendum passes. I couldn't find the law that states unlimited personal use weight for Colorado. Please cite your source for that.

i would love to see a bill that limited the large growers to allow small farms to exist, plus it would likely help keep value up ( a little anyway). as far as weight limit i think thats to keep the black market dealers out aka out of state buyers/dealers. so once its legal across the country the limit may go away. idk what the outcome will be but regardless of any law i will grow and smoke. i took the day off work so the wife and i can vote.

growing for profit will disappear for many but the industry could bring about advancements in agriculture and possibly lower the cost of equipment for personal growers. hopefully we will demand organic and that will make its way to food crops also. (thinking marijuana generally worth more then corn/soy so investing in organics is feasible, then flooding the market with organic ferts, knowledge and such.) trying to be positive but maybe naive.

Here ya go.... direct from the Amendment 64 verbiage passed into law. From here: https://www.fcgov.com/mmj/pdf/amendment64.pdf

18 (3) Personal use of marijuana. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, THE FOLLOWING ACTS ARE NOT UNLAWFUL AND SHALL NOT BE AN OFFENSE UNDER COLORADO LAW OR THE LAW OF ANY LOCALITY WITHIN COLORADO OR BE A BASIS FOR SEIZURE OR FORFEITURE OF ASSETS UNDER COLORADO LAW FOR PERSONS TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER: POSSESSING, USING, DISPLAYING, PURCHASING, OR TRANSPORTING MARIJUANA ACCESSORIES OR ONE OUNCE OR LESS OF MARIJUANA. POSSESSING, GROWING, PROCESSING, OR TRANSPORTING NO MORE THAN SIX MARIJUANA PLANTS, WITH THREE OR FEWER BEING MATURE, FLOWERING PLANTS, AND POSSESSION OF THE MARIJUANA PRODUCED BY THE PLANTS ON THE PREMISES WHERE THE PLANTS WERE GROWN, PROVIDED THAT THE GROWING TAKES PLACE IN AN ENCLOSED, LOCKED SPACE, IS NOT CONDUCTED OPENLY OR PUBLICLY, AND IS NOT MADE AVAILABLE FOR SALE.

Beyond the above...Co passed a law limiting plant counts to 12 per residence 1-1-2018....but some counties have made larger allowances (because the law allows them a wide berth as well)...or do not state "3 in veg, 3 in flower." ..just "Max 12 per residence".

Case in point...The regulations in my county (revised 3X already since passage in 2014!!!!) only speak of 12 plant limits on the rec side....no veg/flower ratios anywhere....and all they say regarding Summer outdoor grows is a fence is needed ....and shielding those grows from view of public/roads/etc. is required... but again///no veg/flower ratios. They know you'll do the max if you are outside. As stated in A64 above...You can keep any/all of the cannabis you grow from these grows. Any penalties you see listed for possession on the Net are for possession IN PUBLIC. Less than 1 z is OK after A64......2 on the med side after A20. On the rec side (maybe med as well..I haven't checked)....our law includes concentrates..so you can have 28 grams of shatter if you so choose as your allowed weight IN PUBLIC.

At your residence...the above A64 verbiage rules. You never hear of busts for weight...just for plant counts. GROW THOSE FUCKERS HUGE is the key here. Start indoors...go outdoors when they are gigantic...

And while the State limits to 24 per residence...my county still allows 99 if you have medical documentation. I'm guessing it would put you solidly on their radar...but it is legal if you qualify.

What's good is in the 5 years I've been here in this house/county...I've seen the Sheriff go up the road less than a handful of times. Most everyone on our road is cool and a few others grow as well.

I did hear that some counties have LIVE Google Earth feeds and can see in real time what you are growing..and it's precise enough to count how many plants you have....so the time is coming when stealth will likely come back into play...if not to ignore counts...to fuck with them as much as possible... Heehheee....

Be careful/smart all. It's still a huge, ever-changing game out there.

Or 18 in 30 gal!!!!

Because we voted in 6 per adult and there are 3 of us listed as voters here we did our 18 as stated in A64. We simply didn't get (or care about) the memo of the new, goes against the will of the People 12 plant limit.

and for a $1000 fine for going over if things go to shit, LOL, again....we honestly just don't care.

Besides...are they LIMITING THE NUMBER OF GUNS under the same "Public Safety" tag? We already lost the right to a gun because we grow weed. If you notice, no one outside the weed game seems to care about that loss of RIGHTS.....though if you tried to take THEIR guns....LOL...BIG FUCKIN DEAL.......so nope....not gonna play that game here. When I see such intrusive limits imposed on others...>>>>maybe<<<<.

All I can say is GOOD LUCK UP THERE....and don't expect your individual 12 counts to last very long. Folks will blow it up BIG in the 'hoods and counts will drop.

Start right now not giving a fuck.

Trust me.

the law is perfect right now ...
-let it evolve organically
-we would be unique among the other states with people still holding the most rights and power over the plant

just remember it will become “more illegal when its legal than when it was illegal”

were fkd tho its probably gonna pass because people swallow the dialectic whole without trying to digest it and shutte will be the new governor ...

dont quote me but remember this post in a yr or 2 when people will be pissing and moaning how fkd up it is:wall:

they re just destroying a way of life for a lot of people
the culture is over now once its mainstream

they learned all this frm alcohol prohibition

theyve taken the money out of it from the inside out like the law was designed for-

*legal-lies*

the asperger kid gt it along time ago ...

its legal to grow it now
your only legalizing the right for them to sell it to you

after they get that they will go after more of your rights

it creates a mandate for them to change the rules at will
without a vote

these micro grows a few in here mentioned are just micro/macro tax and regulate
you can grow 72plants already!

they will regulate it alright ...

it’ll pass and watch what happens ...

this is all part of the plan theyve had for 50+yrs
herding cats is easy ...

very good insight and this info needs to be spread. I keep telling people close to me that it should be voted on carefully. I've been trolled on IG for telling people to vote no. One guy specifically keeps telling me I'm a bad guy because I want to be patient and wait for a better legalization bill to come. I understand that legalizing it will liberate some groups in Michigan but people lets not rush into the first thing we get to vote on. The same guy who is bashing me is getting ready for his hemp farm. Don't let people hide behind those narratives to push their own agendas.

What makes you believe that it will pass? I kind of have a hunch it will too but I've been pessimistic lately.

And @Stiickygreen I would hate to see what happens in CO when they bust down your door and discover the stax from this year's harvest. Please be safe.
LOL. You ARE in an illegal State...of mind, shimz

They have no legal recourse to do any such thing. As stated in the law (did you read that?)...there's no limit on in house weight here...so what can they do? After 30 years of illegal growing...I'm over worrying about that kinda shit anyway. Did you read that it's a mere $1000 fine for going over a 12 count in my county? Izzat enough to scare you and have you cowering for them? Did you wait til it was legal to start growing? I've been busted 3 times in my life...not a one of em was anything more than a hassle and a money grab by LEO/the State.

In this legal day and age...I think they might have their hands full with the 200K sq ft warehouses and shit anyway...but that's just a guess...

Either way...it was a great season and we're already setting things in motion for next year.

Good luck, Michigan. Prepare for major change(s).

Umm we gave up our cpl for a med card. I still own and possess ALL my LEGAL firearms. No where does it say we have to relinquish our right to bear arms.

Lets not forget the #1 issue here.

ITS STILL FEDERALLY ILLEGAL PEOPLE! O matter what damn state you live it

Yes, I read the law and I have above average comprehension of such things (if I do say so myself...). You may think you have the law on your side, but if you think they won't try to nail you on intent to deliver or roll out the feds then I have to say you're being näive. Please stay safe.

Are you in Colorado shimz?

Not naive...I just don't really care to do all of that worrying about nothing anymore. I've suffered far worse than a pot bust in this life...and I've had 3 fun LEO encounters over the last 40 years to know be able to gauge such things. In the end..all they want is your money.

I've not seen a single news report of a home bust in this state for weight from a personal grow.....nor any reports of all of the doors that have been kicked in. Not saying it can't and hasn't happened...but MOST encounters of that kind are because folks are dealing that pot they are supposed to be sitting on. We don't play that game here. I mean....why work for 1/4 to 1/6 what you used to work for? LOL. There are times when I really miss the 90's...

The safety here in Colorado...is...as always...in numbers. Personal grows and small weight isn't worth their time,or energy when there are warehouses and greenhouses pumping out tons,,,,not pounds of bud/hash.

But thanks for the concern. You be safe as well...
