will led panel work?

i have a small grow box thats 34L x 38H x 15w. i dont want hps since its so small and the light is so hott. then ive flowered with cfls and i wasnt to happy. non the less i never used any nutrients but yeah.bt leds are low watts and suppose to give off so much light. so i been looking at cheap ones on amazon and ebay. heck i found one dude selling 4 1ft x1ft blue/red led grow lights for $100
:leaf:any suggestions plz:weed:

I know exactly what panels you are talking about... they are 14watts a piece and they really do suck... I had 2 of them.... This is the light I use 600W LED ... may be out of your price range, but that company has other lights 150W LED 300W LED 450W LED ... I HIGHLY recommend this company... I have had nothing but good results from mine

Blue are red aren't going to cut it. You need 5 band and up in order to flower with Led. Ebay is flooded with these Led grow lights and panels.

you get what you pay for on ebay. I'd never spend less then 150 on a Ufo Led light.

agree you get what you pay for (if your lucky) and after what I have been told/read you want to invest the money in a good quality fixture if you want to go with LED, them cheap Chinese once is more of a toy, and your much better off with some CFLs or a nice T5HO fixture

You would be better off with a 90-135W "UFO" light.

The difference in quality between a $100 LED panel and a $200 LED panel can be massive. With that much space, you won't be running more than 2-3 plants. I don't know anything about those "Reflector" brand ebay lights that 509Z mentioned, but the 150W is modestly priced and should fit your needs.

If you didn't modify your feed/nutrients before, it doesn't surprise me that you weren't happy. CFL's can still produce good smoke, but you have to be on your nute-game to make 'em frosty.

$40-60 at any hydro/grow store, and I know people online and in person that have had great success.

ok so any of those low watt led panels suck and also to boot u need to get one that has white/blue/orange/ & red bulbs in the led grow panel not just red and blue or just red. what about the juse red panels?
what im trying to do is get my whole flower box set up for around $250 of a good "cool" grow light and a fan/filter combo setup.
i bult a really good veg pc setup n it only cost me about $25 bucks of less to build and have (4) 100watt 2500k cfl and (1) 14watt 2500k cfl and sum pc fans as intake & exhaust and a current fan and it does good but its way way to small to be flowering in
and thank you that advanced nutrient system looks good. i found it on a webstie for $37 bucks

OP you might find my thread of some interest to you.

https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/610538-first-time-grower-experimenting-cheap.html

RIU is a great community but there are a lot of people who post stuff just for the sake of posting ,when in actual fact they have zero hands on experience with LED grows(or maybe they do but they just suck at growing), I built a very simple light out of ridiculously cheap Chinese led SMDs (Blue and Red only ,which I believe is all you need as those are the most effective PAR wavelenghts)and in about 3 weeks I should have conclusive results as I will be harvesting my autoflowers, these lights have done me real good for the veg phase and I have no reason to doubt the final result will disappoint given the simplicity of my rig.

I am not going to bother responding the the self acclaimed know-it-alls here, and this post is for the OP and the OP alone, take a look and decide for yourself, but I assure you will have a far better understanding about LEDs than by listening to any of the posts so far.

I would also suggest you also focus on other aspects of the grow such as nutrients , watering schedules, ventilation etc, as it all adds to the final result.

best of luck.

ok im really thinking about gettin (2) of these t5 2ft (2) 300K BLOOM bulbs for 65 so around @130 for both
i was really wanting a led light cuz it gives off colored light so if any light leaked out it wouldnt b as bad as just a bright white light coing out of the cabinet

Just don't have light leaks, problem solved.

Grow under whatever you want to, with that space I'd either run 2Ft T5's or two UFO LED's ... or both.

try looking for some cheap T5 HO 2' 4 bulb units on ebay. They can be had from $50 to $75 a unit with bulbs. The 14 watt led panels are a little too weak. There are some similar higher wattage panels passively cooled panels (18 - 50 watts) or E27 led bulbs, that can be used as supplemental side lighting, but watch the price, not worth a lot of $$.
