Why would you buy regular?

Some people believe the dankest bud comes from being patient and pheno hunting through a bunch of regular seedlings and some people like keep the odd male plant for cross breeding and such!
Its not a stupid question.

A stupid question to me is "how much should this yield?" Or "whats the best yielding auto?"
Now those are dumb

I've always preferred regular beans. I don't necessarily believe them to be better, but from a genetic point of view I'd rather have proper gender selection as well as a more diverse gene pool instead of S1.

Most feminized beans are of elites. Most of these elites seem to not usually express the desired traits we want from the original plant. And with cannabis being a dioescious plant, I'd prefer to have crosses using both genders.

Also I prefer at times regs if it's s strain I want to repo to do some pheno hunting in the f2's, and sometimes finding that special male that is a keeper for what ever reason you believe it to be, structure, trich production on sacs, smell etc is a special as finding those keeper mothers
:not often enough do you get to see males grown etc, most of us don't have that kind of space...
To have a farm one day :) we all got to have dreams :)

Besides the other various reasons, quite simply most of the elite breeders do regular only so if you want their fire you gotta learn to love regs. But ultimately for me its about seeing the various phenos that come out of a pack.of regs that is desirable.

To me regs offer a better selection, you get both parents genes and if I really like a strain I might just want a male to make more seeds.

Don't get me wrong though I have like 10 packs of fems and 6 pack of regs, I pop more fems than regs but now I wanna make some beans so I don't have to waste a couple grand every year on impulse buys.

Depends on what you want to do.

If your looking to clone, mother plant or breeding I would go with reg. to find and pick the best genes etc.

I am a closet grower with limited space (6 plants). So I always go with fems to make sure I have a full flowering cab.

LOL ya I seen those goof ups. Good ol Bob High.

I don't know about the failure to thrive thing, maybe someone with real knowledge could chime in. You get the point though. Market Control, bananas, X and Y chromosomes, access to male pollen. I thought it was a good comic haha.
