Why was pot quality so bad in the past?

perhaps the majority has got dramatically better. but that killer dank still existed back then, if you ask the old time hippies that were truly in the high grade pot scene back then, they'll tell you that todays weed is not much stronger than back then.

I think it's all about just removing the males, I used to think it was about the genetics but I see threads now where people grow 'bag seed' from mids/schwag and end up with nice sinsemilla from it. Maybe the practice was just less common in years past. The herb didn't start looking real good 'til the 90's in my opinion from the pictures I've seen.

& whoever says that crystally seedless buds are not superior to schwag with seeds & branches in it is crazy ;P I guess the herb has come a long way and we're lucky to live in the times we do, even if there was some good shit on the downlow back in the past now it's the norm. & people are discovering that it's way more medicinal than ever thought possible I think, like people actually being cured of cancer and other serious diseases thanks to eating the hash oil. If anyone disbelieves it just check out the documentary evidence, there's a lot of testimonials of it now.
