hrough cross breeding and our advancement in cultivation. marijuana is a GMO through the process of selective breeding stronger genotypes and more attractive plants (phenotypes) are picked. its only gonna get stronger as time goes on..there still was the bomb as we have today it was just a lot more rare

i never said it was "nonexistent", it just wasn't "typical". 90% of yesterdays smoke wouldn't be grown today due to it's quality. 10% of it has been saved and breed to perfection.

i'm in my 40's, i DO know.

Yes with the advance in indoor horticulture we have gone far in a short amount of time and yes i believe that as time goes on we will find and or make better strains. But that doesnt mean we didnt have really good shit back in the 70 and 80. It may have not been readily availible like it is today, but it was there.

i live in an area where i can buy fruit from a corner stand, grown organically by local farmers. it tastes pretty damn good.

i'm trying to stick with "facts", since my penis is so small. the facts are, "selective breeding improves marijuana quality". i'm not really trying to prove anything about how i know more. i'm simply laying out some "common sense".

to go on and on in a personal way telling stories about the good ole days is merely an ego issue. this whole thread is a pissing contest. can no one else see it?

I agree with the weed part, but comparing it to vegetables just doesn't work. A LOT of veggies, and I mean a LOT are genetically modified. Corporations (like monsanto) are changing the genetic makeup of the farm crops...It's a controversial topic, but still it's not so much selective breeding as it is with cannabis.

Everyone knows that humans didn't REALLY know how to grow marijuana until the 2000's. There is no way they ever had pot as good as the stuff im smoking. No way they had soda as good as the stuff im drinking now. Man how did you old timers not kill yourselves because of the shit quality you had?

I like it when there is this discussion. Because of course weed today is better than in 1968, at least the weed I could get.

We were all just stupid shits. It was all new to us. Marijuana, LSD, barbiturates, opiates, it was party time.

So we bought pot. It had seeds and stems. We ALL GOT HIGH, or else we wouldn't have bought more. Most of it was brick weed. But then, probably early 70's, we would get some special weed. The first I remember is the Acapulco Gold, The Thai Stick (weed on bamboo) and other strains started to appear.

We grew a bunch of weed, thousands of plants. But we really didn't have a handle on the male/ female thing. We would plant the seeds we collected over the year just like growing corn. We had lot's of weed. It wasn't that good, we didn't know what we were doing.

A few years latter I did it. We figured it out, I got a Phototron 3000 designed to grow weed. It had an instruction manual that explained the sexing process and the different nutes required during the different phases. This was not the best grow machine, but I learned a lot about growing. We actually grew some pretty good weed, and I was able to grow some BUDS outside.

But, That was then

and now we have better weed, but if I didn't smoke that Old Weed, I probably wouldn't be smoking today

I just know the weed I'm growing is going to be the best I'm ever going to smoke.

technology advances - i would say most growers now achieving optimum - surely there is only so far u can go

in my experience started smoking in early 90's - mostly imported grown outside foreign climates - best nature had to offer
where as now we can get perfect humidity / ph / temp / nutes (well this is the only area i belive has along way to go), aswell as much better lighting (ofc this too can see improvemts in effeicency) + some other areas i prob missing out. so really its just alot easier to grow or buy nowView attachment 1313527

so accroding to this chart if we could perfectly adjust ph our plants could get optimimum uptake of certain nutes as and when needed then ofc they would be more potent

LSD was actually BETTER back then. some of the chemicals used aren't available these days.

you can't find good "crank" anymore either. it's all crystal meth. there used to be some really good "crank" around. stuff that wouldn't turn you into a tweak, but still actually wire you.

Yeah it sucks everyone judges weed on bag appeal these days,and even think they are getting HIGHER because weed looks good (example: purps)

A lot of stuff back then wasn't grown with all this indoor tech, it was grown outside, guerilla style baby.

I got some outdoor weed right now, doesnt look to good, doesnt even smell to good, but it gets you high as fuck.
Plus back then a lot of it was grown in other countries, so shipping took its toll on quality.

Back in the day...Juan Valdez grew my coffee and his family grew my pot.
