Why is everyone buying into this Auto-Flower and Female seed crap?

The tent i have in my cupboard now already atkes up more space than i'd like, i do own clothes, and in that i can fit one dwc tub for vegging, a mother, and a very small propagator. As it is i have a good mother, but i need to change it up, and can't afford to loose this mother, so i'd either have to cancel the perpetual, or cock around lots.

I don't understand why i am having to justify the limitations of my grow space. I don't have space to grow out males, and at present, i also don't have the money for a double amount of nutrients.

No one is asking you to justify anything at all. This was a simple thread and it seems as if you are upset about something. I do have to sak if you are one of the breeders? There is no need to get angry anr mad on a forum. we are all here to help each other out. I am simply asking a question

I stated that i did not have the space to grow males, you said this was bullshit. I feel inclined to prove you wrong when you tell me i'm bullshitting :)

Look at the flip side. This was what happened when i didn't use fem's

Males, leaving me with one plant, now that was an awfully counter productive use of my space, and for other people, a very expensive setback. If i had the space to grow out regular seeds in search of a great pheno, i would, but alas i don't.

Can no one comprehend what these fem'd and auto seeds are doing to the gene pool or do you even care? By buying these seeds you are allowing them to be made which is completely selfish and irresponsible. People have no insight to the future or care about anything but themselves.

I am not calling you a liar. Again you could grow 12 flowers and 12 females in a tent that would fit n that nice space you have there behind next to that cardboard box. get out a tape ruler and measure 4 feet wide. Because I already know from looking at the picture its 5 feet high and two feet in depth. And no you don't have to use males ver and over again. You just do the male once on the 1st grow and then manually pollenate one branch on the female and then take a cutting on another small branch for a clone. Then after your ast harvest you will end up with a usual plane with buds, one small branch with seeds and a nice clone. Then from this point forward you never have to worry about getting a seed for this strain ever again. Why? You put the seeds in an old camera film box and store for a rainy day. Lets say one day you decide not to grow and take a break. Alas you can because you have your srain set aside. so you see you only waste two small bottom branches your 1st go around and then you never need to again provided you don't want to grow something different, but it won't matter as you will have your backup supply. If you do this right you will end up with many strains. You can also cross pollenate during your 1st go arund as well on one tiny branch that won't give you crap anyways indoors. Just trying to help you out.

what are you talking about? :-| :-? 012 (23).jpg

these came from a feminized plant crossed with a male from a stable strain. :hump:

As for the rest I understand that some of you think that the breeders are doing you a favor, but they are not. You see what they are really trying to do is get everyone to a point of being complacent with the idea of having all female plants delivered to you. What you don't understand is that eventually the original strains will be lost and put away in their pockets. Then none of you will ever be able to breed on your own. Why? you won't have any male plants to work with..
so its a big conspiracy????

And they still contain the crap hermie genetics while they might not show in the first generation they are unstable as a whole.

No, just an easy way out. This way breeders don't have to be breeders and actually put some work in to find a quality male and at the same time they can capitalize off of clone only strain names.

hermies are not used to make feminized seeds, unless you are a HACK.

if i do run across hermies they can easily be out bred. i kinda know what i'm doing. ;)

don't you think breeders want new strains?

Exactly stonedmetal. Pretty soon there won't be original strains as they will all be messed up. Then the real problem comes into play when these genes start doing some weird things. Then there will be a mad rush to get back the original strains and lets face it the new strains they are coming up with are no as good as the original strains mother earth spent millions of years perfecting.

lol, you can't breed out chromosomes. Did you pay attention in science class? While they might not show in every plant they are still there. Even if you reverse a plant a female is still being pollinated by a female. It's still a hermie no matter how you look at it.

@fdd2blk. they aren't new strains at all. A new strain would be a new species alltogether and there are none. What the breeders do is take a original strain and cross breed it with others, then they call it a F-1 hybrid. This is nothing more than a psudo name of 1st generation. Why aren't they doing F-5 or more? Then they either "A" stress the plant after she produces and it hermies out or they put collodial silver on a branch and stress her out. This is nothing new. This was found in the 60's with tomato plants. The ironic thing going on is no other plant producer whether its tomatos or any other plant do this anymore. Why? They found out it wrecks the strain down the road. If this was the golden answer all plant producers worldwide would be doind this, but they don't. They rely on the natural ways of nature to occur.

so why not jus stick with the same old breeder, who dose not do fem seeds?

I grew out a bunch of auto's (first time) at the same time started new female seeds (always) and by the time my female seeds where ready to go 12/12 I was harvesting my auto's that ROCKED. I got 1.5-3 oz per auto and the potency was good. Feminized seeds are just as safe as regular seeds. Regular seeds have gone hermie too. It's not just Fem's. I only had one fem seed go Hemie and that was an auto. I buy 25-45 fem seeds per year and no issues.

Don't you guys think it might be one of those give a bit, take a bit situations, as fdd has shown. I mean i'#m one of these selfish feminized seed gene depleting users, yet i also carry a highly sought after clone only original strain, beacuse it should be preserved (and it's great :p). I mean ever eaten tinned tuna or even "fresh" supermarket fish?

And again, no, i don't have space for males so i grow with females if i'm not using a clone off the mother.
