My experience with Autos is considerable.
I grew the first version of lowryder all over my yard, behind a hedge row.
My experience with Autos is affected by a few points.
Autos are relatively new in the cannabis world and not everyone gets it right.
Lots of mutants, less potency, and ruderalis throwbacks.
Lots of time wasted.
And when I am gathered with people who grow autos, their herb stays in the box. Everyone wants my herb. They start converting to photoperiod grows.
They don't realize their autos are weaker, until they get something else to compare it against.
So that's it.
If the waste of time and throwbacks don't bother you, it's quite possible to smoke your autos and be very well satisfied.
Like anything in life, it's a personal choice.
There will always be a market for Fems and Autos, and it doesn't matter to me if someone wants to be the guinea pig to help get them tuned in. It's a service to the community. Feedback is how breeders get right.
