Why do people clip leaves in late flower?

If you're going to make a claim as such, it would be prudent of you to back up the claim with evidentiary information. A scientific study perhaps, or photos and details of same-environment side-by-side grows that you've done that could be considered as proof.

"Defoliating works" is subjective, and provides no information as to how or why.

Isn't humidity a positive?
Humidity is great!! Depending on the situation you got big fat arm colas at 80%rh your gonna have a bad time....

you gotta remember it’s a weed we are growing and the bit we want is the bit it uses to protect itself from predators and stress, this is why lst works a treat

make it think it’s under attack and it’s gonna protect itself

make it think it’s in the middle of the desert it’s gonna frost up and protect its Buds

I like to give her 15min at night with a blacklight all my lights turned on and then just the black light for another 15min before bed so she feels the need to produce more resin... hoping thats good enough... it's really the best I can do... I'm not really in a position to be ordering big UBv growlights to this address lmao

I’ve never experimented with black light and I’m new to leds from hps, but the led I’m using has 4 uv diodes apparently I haven’t noticed much difference in frost from my old hps set ups. I always used a combo of low humidity and high airflow to get the glitter I needed from my hps I’ve done the same this time round with my led and seen very similar results.

I'm a dumbass dude honestly I'm just going off a lot of reading online and trial and error... I heard certain UV like blacklight does a little damage to the plant which makes it produce more THC potent resin and strengthens it in the long run... I feel like 30min every other day won't hurt... I'm already seeing some drastic increase in resin production but that could totally just be the plant maturing... either way I figured it's worth a shot... I'll keep you updated

Just because that person preaches this does not make it right.Waste of time, buds do not need direct light, the leaves feed the buds.
Never said it was right or wrong just said form your own opinion about what kyle kushman practices and i also believe he states in the video numerous times these are his methods and what he thinks works and not a definitive method or practice in which you have to apply or it wont be right lol

Im not sure why everyone got so stuck on that video and polluted this thread for someone tryna just get some help, nobody said this was the definitive method of training plants, i said myself i dont do this in the same manner kushman does i dont believe stripping plants bare or doing much defoliating in flower (aside to allow even light distribution to the budsites) and kushmans video was a vegging plant not yet into flower lol. All that aside i believe what this thread was intended for was help and not trashing eachothers growing methods... i grow from clone and from seed, i top numerous times in veg (these ladies end up in 20gal pots to flower so i up pot 3 times from a 1gal, 3gal, 7 or 10gal, to finally a 20gal) i keep humidity high (70-80%rh) in veg and temperatures ranging from 77-82°F, then in flower it gets hotter and dryer 80-85°F and 40-50%rh lights go full bore a mix of led and hps, i trellis and train, defoliate throughout veg, at the beginning of week 5 of flower i start to defoliate the plant to even up light distribution throughout the canopy i keep the lights close and i dont feed my plants anything but pure clean water and compost tea their entire life cycle, all in the media cant beat organic living soil :)... hope any of this helped sorry people trashed the thread

If ya dont like the looks of this ladie (lemon diesel week 4 of flower, took these pics this morning) well then you dont like how healthy cannabis looks cause my bitches always look beatiful and healthy and this ladie alone will harvest near 2lbs of smokeable bud (not the best or biggest yeilding plant in the world maybe but my methods work for me and the bud is testing at 21%THC its totally organic frosty and smells amazing even in veg this ladie stinks like budding herb...
