I wanna trim but where do I start?

Hello fellow growers and Cannibus enthusiasts!

This is my first grow, and I'm just seeking your thoughts on how my babies look. Tomorrow 9/3 will make 6 weeks for the two in the front. (Left tallest one is White Rhino) (Right bushy one is Caramelicious Feminized). The one in the back is Blue Berry Kush and will make 6 weeks on 9/8.

I don't know nothing about nothing lol, but I think I'm doing ok.

I have a 4x4 Quictent with 2 different lights that together pull 365 watts. For the first 2 to 3 weeks I admittedly had them on a 14/10 schedule (don't ask me why) then after more learning and seeing what others did I switched them to 18/6 (probably should have researched first).

The WR is in a 3 gallon pot with 80/20 coco coir/perlite mix. The other 2 are in 2 gallon pots, same mix. The temps stay between 78-90, and the humidity 40-68%. (I have a difficult time controlling these truthfully) my apartment is old and only has 1ac in the living room to cool the whole 2 bedroom apt , I purchased an AC infinity intake fan and carbon filter it helps a little.

As far as nutes, I'd be lying if I said I fed it the correct ratios, I follow what's on the General Hydroponics Flora/Micro/??? Bloom products, and take the advice from many others and do half of what the bottle says.

I'm not even sure if I'm watering my gals correct. I have a 2 gallon sprayer that I mix the nutes into. I water them almost twice a week now about the time it takes for the soil to dry. When watering them I water until I see water start to run off through bottom of the grow fabric. All 3 usually take about 3/4 of the water for me to see the run off. Is that enough water??

I'm asking these questions because as I look around the net at different grow journals of others growing white Rhino, their plants all look way more bushier than my gal at week 5 going on 6. Does she look healthy to you guys/gals? I've only clipped the fan leaves if they start to decay, should I leave them or clip them away, also has anyone ever lassoed around the fan leaves to pinch them together instead of tucking or cutting, i figured it would lesson the surface area of the fan leaf give more light to bud areas and the plant can still draw nutrients from it, has anyone tried it? Also in the pic one of the leaves starting to look tired as a bih, is that normal, doesn't look so bout to clip it but thought I'd ask.

On the smaller CF plant on the right should I trim it? You can't see but it's like a jungle under those fan leaves, tons of smaller stems and bud spots everywhere not getting light (in my opinion) Everytime I go to clip leaves I chicken out unless they are dead, or decayed. Also the tips and edges of some of the leaves are turning yellow and bronze, what could that be, should I be worried?

Is it to late to top them? Is it beneficial to top them?. I'm 5'11" and can stand inside my tent with a slight head tilt due to its slanted style roof, should I worry about the white Rhino growing to tall?

Also I purchased the WR and CF seeds from MNSL, and the BB from ILGM, they all are supposedly autos (that's what I payed for) should they be flowering by now?

Sorry for the long post and all the questions just wanted to give as much info as possible.

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Take this comment with a grain of salt. I don't have a lot of experience, but one thing I do know is that my plants at three weeks from germintion look like yours a six. The red flag you mentioned is water! When I grew my first batch I noticed that too much water slowed growth. Let the plants dry between watering so the roots grow reaching for water. That will also increase the growth rate of the plant. Watering till run off is a way to wash out salts from your nutrients to prevent build up. Youre only using half the dosage so you shouldnt have to flush water through so much. Also I used 5 gallon pots and never watered more than 1 1/2 liters per plant per feed/water. Try giving your girls less water, less often and see how that works.

From what I can tell your plants look fine as far as the color in the first photo goes. You are doing good.

Having said that, there are as many ways to grow Cannibis as there are growers You need to figure out your goals and desires as far as growing goes (besides getting medicated). Is your goal just to fulfill your personal wants? Some folks are happy to drop some seeds and water and feed as needed. Me, I looking to avoid daytime tv so I take time to defoliate and lst etc. But hey that’s what I want to do you need to figure it out on your own what you want to do.

As far as size goes they may be limited by the 2 gallon pots. With respect to flowering yes, autos usually start flowering by now. On my first grow I stressed an auto so bad I had to switch to 12/12 lighting. Once it flipped I kept the 12/12 because I wasn’t sure if it would cause revenging.

It’s frustrating at first but keep reading, learning, and once you get a feel for it it’s great.
Good luck

They are autos, so should be left alone, very minimal trimming if at all. First grow its hard enough to finish them without worrying about all the small details that dont make any meaningful difference.
Your watering schedule and amounts sounds right.

Good luck:leaf:

Nutrient schedules are just guides. They are meant to be a foolproof feed schedule that wont burn you plants. Some plants can use more and some respond better to less. A lot of people use less to save money and others use less because the strain they grow needs less. maybe you should increase the nutrients in one of each of your strains to see if it makes a difference. Nothing Ventured nothing gained right.

Over all your girls look fine, but remember its your first grow so live and learn. You have three different strains so they will grow differently, keep pushing. With an auto I would be afraid to do a lot of top trimming, but trimming the bottom third wont hurt and should let the plant focus growth at the top.

Thanks for all the feed back, opinions and advice. This community rocks!! I don't feel as worried now but will remain vigorous in observing my gals and learning how the operate.

Back off your nutrients a little. You're getting too much Nitrogen. Otherwise you look good.

Put those seedlings in a pot (pic 1) and make sure you bury the stem 3/4 in

My 2¢ …

First pic plants look pretty good a little dark but not bad .
Question : What lighting is used during that ? ….

Reason I’m asking is I would definitely run that one over plants instead of blurple. Strains you have look a bit indica dominant so you are good in height ….. think bush. I’m not a coco user per se so I imagine there are many coco users ready to help with proper feed.

However https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/ is a good site to learn a few things.

Thanks for your feedback and opinions, I appreciate you and everyone taking your time. I'm using 2 different lights I purchased them both from Amazon, 1. Philzon 1200W which pulls 265w and a Gilzer 1000, which pulls 100w. So together 365w, I have them both on VEG since planting to now, I put both bloom and VEG on about 4 days because I thought they were flowering lol turns out they were stems of the bottom of the n

I appreciate the feedback! They actually are the same lights in both pics. I have 2 different lights in my 4x4.....both Amazon products Philzon 1200w which really pulls 265w and a Gilzer 1000 pulling 100. I turned the bloom on for a little bit, but back off quickly once the temps shot up 10 degrees, in less than 10 min. So the first light is how always are normally. The other pics was during that 10 min period I cut the blurple on.
