i don't know what you're talking about
need a job? we can hire you on one of our crews this spring. you'll get $12 an hour to dig holes and carry our trash up to the dumpster
Nah, I worked skilled trades like carpentry. They pay $12 for that now in Texas and Colorado. I used to get $100 per window, now they pay $75. I used to get $120 a square for vinyl siding. I used to get $70 for setting a door.
I don't work construction anymore because unless you are an electrician, the wages are shit.
I've even lost my callouses. They can have it if they wanted it so bad. I personally have trained three different crews and the owner hired all their family from Durango or some shit like it and fired all of us.
It happened again, and I told him, train them yourself, I quit.
I have nothing against them, and Russian immigrants are just as bad with the cutthroat wages.
the fact of the matter is unless you are a contractor, you don't make shit.
Personally I think there should be a minimum wage by profession.
I've worked in factories. I've done alot of things. I own my own home now, so I never work. I have a 401k and I work with my friend for $18 an hour helping out on his farm. His dad has expensive cows. Like 5k a head cows from Japan. They call them Wagyu.
Japan was not very happy that they were smuggled out of there. The ones that did make it here have hemophillia problems. Which my friend and his family have mostly bred out of the new lines.
