There is a big catch here brother, MJ strains cannot enter the patent/copyright game in the US due federal law. Coke made it's coin from marketing it's brand not product, as coke has become synonymous with cola.

But now we have companies like Sativex and they have genetically fingerprinted there plants in case of theft .. The days of Patent/Copyright laws may just be changed in time ... Whats funny is people get mad over some genetics that are rare , myself I use them and hand them back as I cant keep them forever .. They live on in the seeds they produce and those I hand out for free with no hitch ..

there is some native American wisdom that says:

"you can tell a rich man by how much he gives away...not how much he has"bongsmilie

--I have seen many many times you can give away genetics to 5different growers and you will have 5different results

the cream always rises to the top-and sets the bar
out of 100 pharmers....mayb 10will hit it the way it's supposed to

if you can grow true medicine ..:leaf:....it speaks for itself!

anyone or their grandma can grow weed--few grow medicine

i think everyone should share genetics...:eyesmoke:
.only a few will know what to do with them or be able to bring out the full potential that only the grower with skills can unlock!

i have seen very experienced growers grow crappy genetics and it was still good....:joint:


and I have seen inexperienced growers ruin some of the best genetics out there:leaf:

genetics should always be spread around when you can....

folks that have experience will gladly pay$for them to acquire
like my friend paid 100$ a cut for the GSC or the white

he understands what their worth-
20,000$ for a cut????

the person that does that should be hung out to dry-

The most honorable gave away all and many still do . I gave all I could for my daughters naming ceremony with all honor .. Would have walked away naked if not illegal today :(

I think your scenario comes into play with Skilled Breeders , I know several legendary ones and they often hold genetics and preserve them all at the same time .. These people are my heroes and mentors all in one , as they too are not out to hoard or play games .. Its all about making it easier in the long run for others to grow good medicine regardless of skill from simple seeds passed around .. Passing out the genetics for others to play breed is often just disastrous due to combining methods and people not understanding it all or even caring to .. Study specific combining ability in botanical terms and it will open up a new world .

I think if its shared one way or another like mentioned above that all is well and karma is good regardless of who is holding what ..

It's not about being tight with cuts for me, it's about trust. If I know you and trust you, I'll share whatever I have. If I don't know you or trust you, I won't share a fan leaf with you.

I also don't bring clones in to my garden anymore. No cut is worth the risk of mites or whatever other bullshit can hitch a ride in to my garden. Seeds for me

how is that ? Is there an actual federal law that says one cannot put a patent on a specific genetic strain irregardless whether the plant is in prohibition?

please explain ?

That does not explain anything. What prevents anybody from applying for a patent for a strain of Cannabis ?
Not talking about delivery mechanisms or others that apply for patents, but if one actually breeds and produces a superior strain of Cannabis what Prevents me from applying for a patent?

our Michigan sub-forum has fallen to an all time low. this thread is beyond ridiculous, just like the other 20 or so in rotation. there are a whole lot of grown men and women who need some sun and to relax before sharing their thoughts and feelings here. summer can't come fast enough. come on people. we're scaring off new site members and keeping the hundreds of lurkers from posting with this immature crap......the new ghost accounts aren't helping either...........funny, but not helpful.

i actually had a guy say he wanted 10,000$for a true OG cut!! --in Detroit (Godzilla)

i started shaking and my friend tugged on my shirt cuz he could see my blood starting to boil and we left

thats why I believe you should always put your genetics out there as much as possible...it's good karma

My 2 cents is...I would put my Grape Goo cut against anything anyone wants to throw out there..sorry if it isn't "ELITE" enough for some peeps...or if I didn't earn the goo. I only had a chance to start earning my goo...and they made it legal so..sorry again..and I have given out probably 100 cuts since I got the cut back..FO FREE..

yah buck's right they do have the patents most of us here remember when we figured it out LoL


p.s. labs to come...so then can my weed can be medicine? kiss-ass:wink:

Aside from the fact that MJ is a natural occurring substance, no such patent/copyright could be enforced as it's legality would bar it from any federal court room on it's face. Investment and employment with in the MJ industry is also plagued by this fact.
