Would love to try some bell peppers next time.
Same...I have become quite the fan of reducing bell peppers down into a sweet dip.

Grab a pack of Multi coloured bell peppers, dice them up into fine cubes, put them in a pot with a few tbsp of water and some sugar and reduce it down...repeat.if necessary.

Comes out as a lovely sweet dip which goes amazingly well with cream cheese and those little toast crackers. Adding my own chilli's to the mix will take it to another level.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree that starting in soil has lower germination rates.
Neat. Glad that works for you. Not everyone starts as a pro tho.

Most new growers fail with proper wet/dry cycles in soil (and every medium?). By extension, germination rates are negatively effected in soil. How many times do we see seeds in 5g pots that get watered every day? Almost everyday in these forums.

Therefore, we try to setup new growers for success using methods that more forgiving. Learn fundamentals first, then we build on that.

Happy growin! :bigjoint:

What could more fundamental than sticking a seed in soil and letting it grow?

?

I didn't start as a pro. I've been planting straight to soil for decades and never had a problem. I didn't even know people went through all the convoluted processes many do until I read about them on cannabis forums.

I don't understand what you mean by fundamentals. There is nothing simpler than just planting a seed directly into soil.

I've dropped seeds in my soil bin and when I opened it two weeks later there were foot long white sprouts
Since mother nature has done it forever I think it deserves a say

I know that one well. Exact same scenario. Had a 100L bin of soil and I was turning it over. Out pops a foot long taproot with two perfect cotyledons and first leaves coming through. The cotyledons were white with a tinge of yellow. The craziest thing about it all was that it I threw it in a puddle on the tiles beside me and left it there. The next day the root was fuzzy and the cotyledons were greening, even with a taproot exposed to the environment. I could not believe it.

This plant is truly remarkable.

Start seeds in solo cups with coco coir. It's virtually impossible to fuck that up. After 3 weeks or so, transplant into your peat/compost mixture. Easy pickins.
