Letting the soil dry will help slow them down, but wont kill them off. They thrive in warm wet conditions. So you can lower the temp and let the pots dry out, it should help some.
If growing in organics, you can use liquid pyrethrin and insecticidal soap. Youll probably need more than one application dependin on how bad they are.The pyrethrin should kill them and the soap will clean a waxy residue they leave behind. They also secrete a poison in their saliva that will kill roots and wont let them grow back, so using an enzyme (hygrozyme, cannazyme, etc..) will help the roots breakdown the old ones. Using Azamax, and Azatrol will help control them, but not kill them off.
If growing non organic you can use the same method as organicly, but its cheaper with chems. There is quite a few different chems you can use, from what I've read and used Spectracide and Imidicloprid (Bayer tree&shrub, merit 75) seem to work the best. Spectracide is a contact killer while the Imid is a systemic. You should also use the Insecticidal soap to clean the roots. Depending on how bad your infestation is, you'll prob need more than one application. Only use in veg, you can use the Azamax and Azatrol in flower.
Other option is cutting your loses, and start over. They carry plant viruses and could infect the plants. Get rid of everything and clean with bleach solution. New everything or clean with bleach. Im trying to kill them now and went the chemical route.
