having and undeveloped root system (clones) saturated with water and little oxygen

for instance having a rockwool set clone in water with a weak air stone, its happened a few times to me, thats why im looking for a better solution until root system gets developed, this seems to be excellent, i'll keep you updated on how it goes. I actually am taking my clones used for one week and partially damaged from drip bubbleponics to this fogg system

If thats the case then i recommend you get the same airstone hose i have. It's 3ft long and has little holes all along it... you can bent it to whatever shape you want. And it makes TONS of bubbles. Check out my pictures of the young plants res. you'll see tons of bubbles. I find airstones dont help unless you have one under each plant or huge ones....

a good remedy for gnats is rubbing alcohol diluted with water,
what do i do with it? Spary in on the leafs?

I noticed they were coming from the top of my res. I put aluminum foil on top to prevent light from getting in. The moisture from the fogger got in between the 2 and i find that's where the gnats were. I removed it all and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and i haven't seem a gnatin 24 hours.

My buds still dont smell that great. I was expecting super dank smell.. They just smell like green beans with a dash of lemon. Weird...

yes, you spray the solution on the plant leaves, not underneath though.

as far as the scent goes i heard somewhere the sulfur is what controls that, maybe try a little epsom salt?

do you notice any smell that is different from normal when you use the fogger?

its been a day, i came home from work and inside my grow room it smelled like something was burning, i checked everything out, and i didn't see anything that looked burned. There was foam in the corners of the res, the foggers were not hot at all neither was the res water....i have no idea what that smell is, it didn't start until i had the fogger in place

could it be the smell of the nutes in the humid air? im confused

oh yeah, and my roots seem thinner and browner than yesterday? is it because i let them air out too long when i did a flush? or could it be because of the 6 hour lights off fogger off period is too long?

what problems if any did you incurr?

hmmm, i never had any type of burning smell what-so-ever. i have my fogger running 18 hours a day too... I honestly have no clue what to tell you on that... I doubt it has anything to do with the nutes either. Ide start with your electrical though. Sorry man, i have no idea.

the browner roots could be from the nutes..

I went to take the plants out so i could flush the res today. (keep in mind they are in a small box and lean up against the walls/each other). So i took it out and all the nugs weighed so much they almost snapped all the branches. Colas fell over etc... I gave all the plants a big bear bug to make sure nothing would snap off. i had rope percut right there thank god. I roped up each plant and put it back. Avoided disaster by sooo little. I wouldve been very mad if a lot of them snapped off.

On a side note, how will i drain my res now? I think im out of luck. I will have to let them drink the res dry and then add more water.. not good...

Ideas?

buy a water pump, or add a drainage valve...

do you think it is possible that the fogger is putting out a low electrical current in the water and zapping the roots causeing that smell

i had to go to the store earlier, but when i came back i notice that the mist was warm and so was the res, but the i left for like 5 mins came back and the mist was still warm but the water was cool, is the mist supposed to be warm?? i think the warm water was just the top because thats where the mist rests first before it gets dissolved with the rest of the water

i have an 18gal res with 10gals of water in it

There should be no electrical current of ANY form in the water. just think of the ramifications of that... I pick my fogger up and move it all the time while its ON with bare hands and i get zero zaps of any type. I also notice ZERO difference in both water and ambient water temps when using and not using the fogger.

Please make sure your fogger is not getting completely submerged under water. And if you continue to get this burning smell i think it would be best to remove the unit as there is probably something mechanically wrong.

The only browning i get on my roots is from the nutes when im around 1800ppm (now). I will take pictures of my clones when i get home. 100% success rate with these guys and the roots look fabulous.

So i went downstairs this morning and there were in fact a few casualties. I guess some of the nugs on the bottom branches were heavy enough to bend and crease the branch. This all happened when i attempted to remove my res last night to flush. Once there were no walls to support everything and all support ropes were removed, it all fell to shit. It was bizarre to see.. Thanks god i didnt panic and left them like that for 20 seconds tops 90% of hairs are still white so i know they are not ready. oh well.. Rookie mistake.

But on a bright side there were nugs EVERYWHERE that i could not see when in the box. I wouldnt be surprised at all if i get 2-3 per plant dry. thats a lot of toking! (this is all for personal comsumption by me and with friends).

Can't wait.... :joint:

Day 36 flowering.

Buds looks really nice and dense. Hairs are starting to turn amber. Only about 5-10% have changed.

I flushed out res and went with 8mls bushmaster per gallon. Then added a dash of Flora Nova bloom to bring PPMs up to 800. Im going to flush again in 3 days (only supposed to run bushmaster for a few days). Then im going to run 400ppm (practically pure water) for 2 weeks and they should be close to done by then (about 3 more weeks).

gnats seem to be gone.

Buds still dont smell dank but look awesome.

cant wait. :joint::hump:

Day 36:

Plants are looking awesome. Weird how a few (5 or so) nugs have already turned 60% amber. Its only day 1 of week 6, i wasnt expecting it this early.

Enjoy the porn~

Flora Nova. Haven't really experimented with other brands so i cant says its better or worse. I just know it works great and is a little pricey.

bobbyboy: how the fogger? still giving you that burning smell / brown roots?

^^ This is my 3rd hydro grow. I just started with hydro 4 months ago. It's easy! Once everything is set up all you have to do is add water, check ph, flush every 2 weeks and pay your electric bill.. Wallah, your golden!
