rap is DEAD....METAL will rise again; none of those fuckers can come up with anything good to listen to anymore, i had to revert back to something that actually has an art to it, rap is too plain and mainstream...i dont know why i ever liked it i think it was because i was like most of you confused and dont know who i am, then igrew and started actually seeing that shit aint even cool... i wont knock every rapper, mostly anything not mainstream

pretty easy to say jay-z is king of ny with all the people on the poll, only other person that could compare is Nas and thats just cuz he got the 5 mics back in the day but if you ask me he's not all that. And I gotta say as much as I love the rappers in NY personally this thread just makes me happy I get to rep the west coast and not only that but the bay. Andre Nickatina, Mac Dre, Keak Da Sneak, Clyde Carson, E-40, Messy Marv, San Quinn, and not to mention YA BOY, trax, The Jacka, the list goes on and on and thats only the Bay....dont even get me started on the rest of cali. So much talent on the west its hard not to find something to fit your style and in case you guys havent heard of any of those rappers I highly suggest you go in youtube and type in their names, especially Ya Boy, his lyrics are better then any rapper I have ever heard before and Ive been listening to rap my whole life...smoke some budd and hit up this website http://www.thebaymusic.com/ya-boy-feature-bio-discography-artist-spotlight/ and scroll down till you get to the cd: Chapter 1 The Rise... scroll through all the cd's from there down if your trying to get introduced to the best mixtape artist out. if you truly know rap and actually listen to lyrics he's impossible not to love. ha sorry for the rant but im passionate about this rap shit dammmmit.

wow...get offended that i dont like your dick server?

biased?...im from L.A. giving an honest opinion on N.Y. hip hop...im not from brooklyn pumping my neighborhood boy....

the proof is in the pudding kid...Jay has sold the most, put out the most consistent material, and has made the most money doing it

NaS discography...

Illmatic - HANDS DOWN CLASSIC...only downfall is the fact that it only has 9 full songs (however Murs & 9th Wonder proved that you dont need 18 tracks to make consistently great albums)..notable tracks: It Aint Hard To Tell, The Genesis, The World Is Yours...

It Was Written - BRIIIIICK!!!...like i said a couple hot songs...notable tracks: Affirmative Action, The World Is Yours, & If I Ruled The World

I Am - decent at best...this whole CD was hit and miss every other song...notale tracks: NYSOM pt. 2, Nas Is Like & Undying Love

Nastradamus - SUPER BRIIIIIIIIIICK!...goddamn this was a horrible CD...besides the Genuwine feature on You Owe Me, the only thing this disk was good for was a drink coaster.

Stillmatic - THE RETURN...after 3 crap CDs, NaS dropped another sick CD...you could listen to this without skipping a track IMO...better then Illmatic for me.

God's Son - BACK TO THE BRICKS...4 good songs, the rest is grade a GARBO.

Street Disciple - meh...you get glances of the old NaS but its mostly filler material...out of 25 tracks, 10 might be worthy of a listen...

Untitled - BRIIIIIIIICK...need i say more...stir up controversy because your album is garbage...and then back down at the last second only to call your album UNTITLED...marketing at its worst, matched the music though (further proof of this was discovered when i found Untitleds unreleased bonus tracks online earlier this week..."Fear Of The Mandingo" may be the worst NaS song EVER!!!!)

The real king died on March 9th
ha that basically sums up nas's career right there.

I'm gonna go with Jay-Z. I burned a lot of his old albums just recently and we've been slappin' those lately. Really feelin' reasonable doubt n shit.

Nas is sick, too, but it just seems like he doesn't put out a lot of quality shit for how many albums he's had.

SP is the shit.
