Where should I install my ballast (grow tent)

Hi all ! Im getting my first HID 600w soon, I as wondering where i should install my ballast and whats the best, safest way to do it?
Im placing the HID in my flower tent, 4x4. It has ducting connect to my veg tent which is sucking the veg tents air in the carbon filter then out my window....so most of the hot air is going through my flower tent... Do people usually install the ballast on the wall?

I placed mine on a raised frame to allow air flow all around it. peace

mine sit on a large floor tile with a layer of plaster board and underlay under the tile. I used to sit them on a couple of house bricks. Some getter hotter than others. Main thing is make sure your male and female connection is plugged in completely or you can get arcing and that can melt the connectors. Which happened to me once when I had a really old 1000w ballast with slightly different male and female connectors. They were loose and came slightly apart. Melted and smoked horrid black smoke.
