That's why I'm waiting for Amber to get more of a couch lock,
Maybe due to her being a sativa amber is taking so long...maybe
Nice guess!

A lot of sativa strains don't amber much (more pure strains).....Some don't at all.

Yours is a high CBD producing strain if I'm not mistaken........I might be inclined to harvest in around 3-5 days.

Your not going to get a "couch lock" out of that strain.

Potency is highest while trichomes are still clear. When they turn cloudy they are losing potency. When they turn amber theyve lost most of their potency.

This couchlock business with amber trichomes is bro science. There is nothing too it. Just myth.

For the non believers have your trichs tested. The proof is in the numbers.

Harvest when the buds have stopped swelling and the trichs are still mostly clear. Amber is just rot.

that's what you read online , and you know it will start a debate as well,,,
In reading more these last fews days iv read both sides clear/cloudy vs amber and the info seems 50/50.
I'm on the fence now for when to harvest that sativa. Sunday will be 14 weeks from switch to 12/12
After readind your reply I want to harvest tomorrow. Also whats your take on so called "fox tailing" I got some on my buds and of course the info online is 50/50 as well its either about to hemi due to heat stress or becoming more potent....:wall:

No. Actually... i had an opportunity to visit a testing lab and watch how they isolated and test for thc potency. The numbers dont lie. There is no debate. Facts are facts.

What would you recommended me to do with my current situation , should I give her the final 24 hour dark period and harvest Saturday night before lights on ??

As for foxtailing. I have only ever had the happen with one out of six strains i have run in the exact same enviroment. That was ak47 and it has foxtailed consistenly on me. So i believe foxtailing is a genetic trait that has more to do with shape than potency or hermi shit. But my experience in this is obviously limited.

And i like em. The tails are just more bud to me.

If the calyxs have stopped swelling i would give one final watering, plain water, let them drink that up until they wilt a bit then shut the lights off and start chopping. Thats my regimen

One thing that did have me on the fence was if a sativa is a uplifting high , then why would a so called couch Lock amber appear? That would be opposite effect of a sativa...
Her last water was yesturday so I'll skip her water on Friday and most likely cut on Saturday night before lights on.
When lights go off tomorrow morning at 6am I will manually disconnect from timer and will plug back in on Saturday 6pm

Have a look at RM3's "Is it done yet" thread, it's an interesting read.

Where can I find these facts?
Pretty sure there are quite a few studies that show that as the triches turn brown (not the elusive clear Amber/purple) is a sign of degradation but you'd have to search, I tend to harvest earlier than most but I find I like the clearer high of early harvests. I find it's more of a mind/thinking high than if I wait, I almost find it less potent if I wait to long. People experience different effects from different strains, my girlfriend does not seem to get high from my extracts (so she says) where as it is one of the few things that actually get me real high lol.

YEAH, SUPPLY THESE "FACTS"!

I just have to chime in here on this!

I owned disp. till I got shut down in Feb. EVERYTHING that came through my doors to be bought HAD to be tested!
The info you give is FALSE! The lab I worked with is still the most respected lab in the state!
While potency may appear highest at clear. The chemical makeup of the trich is not concentrated with compounds that get you high! Those numbers come later as the trichome matures. (And I still get higher #'s just as the first trichs amber)
Yes, discoloring to amber is a decomposing of sorts. The idea that it no longer has influence on the high, or the type of high is wrong!
It does create a more sedative effect! You get higher levels of CBD for one- that's more medical compounds!

Like you've been hearing all along. Harvest at cloudy to 10-30% amber.

Don't believe me? Top a plant so you have 3 mains.
Harvest 1/3rd at the point of what Gquebed suggested - swollen buds with clear trichs.
Harvest 1/3rd at all trichs cloudy.
Harvest the last of the plant at 20% amber.

Now come back here and tell me which one YOU think has the strongest effect!

In all the years of growing I have under my belt....THE strongest buds tested are always run longer then 90% of the people growing around me! While trichomes are the key! Time running is the lock! Odds are, you will ALWAYS run longer then ANY breeders report by 1-3 weeks (differing phenos and environment).

I guar-en-fucking-tee that every strain ever run in any cup style competition. The test results are done post harvest and they were harvested around 20% amber! NO strains go to cups with clear trich harvesting! WEAK and Headache prone garbage!

BRO SCIENCE MY ASS!

If only folks would learn the "whole" story when it comes to trics. I harvest at 50 to 90% amber and most of my gear shows amber trics in week 4 but, and this is a BIG PHAT BUTT, it is true amber not the watered down indica brown that most seem happy with?

And, there is zero couchlock with true amber. I just harvested my first ever grown Road to Neverland, the pic is a close up start of week 7 with bout 60% amber and this was my smoke report ,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Stage 3 success, the Road to Neverland has the two desired traits I was looking for.

Yeppers, I couldn't wait, I took a small popcorn tester last night and put it in a one hitter and I was absolutely stoked. Came on hard in the first 20 minutes then slowly creeped taking a bit over an hour to peak. It was still goin strong at 3 hours when I took a bong rip of Holy Fuck and then I was simply high as fuck.

It has the complexity and open airways of CTF with a tad less CBD numbing, the 2 traits I was after are whole head and salivate as opposed to cotton mouth, there is also less desire for munchies. It enhances all senses, audio is like 3d surround from just 2 speakers, colors are deep & vibrant, taste is OMG intense. It is euphoric & energetic, my feet did not stop shakin the whole 3 hours. If you focus, your mind fires on all cylinders, if you drift it seems as if you could literally go anywhere in the universe."

There is so much more to weed if only this place would stop hatin and open their minds. I shared all my research on this for free http://growhappyplants.com/look.html
Last week I shared a J with @Afgan King and blew his mind, ask him if true amber is a bad thing ?
